Commence Suicide Watch: Bills May Sign Mark Sanchez

The Buffalo Bills looked to solve their quarterback situation last season when they drafted E.J. Manuel out of Florida State. While he has the potential to develop into a Daunte Culpepper type quarterback — nothing special but a playoff caliber guy — the Bills are worried about this injuries an the chance that starting him too often or too soon may cripple his future.

Enter Mark Sanchez, a guy who has been crippled in the past but somehow can still walk around in the NFL. After looking like his Jets career was over (and it might not be just yet), Sanchez’s name has now come up in connection to the Buffalo Bills thanks to Jason La Canfora from CBSSports.com:

So, it stands to reason that the backup for the Bills could end up getting a good long look sooner rather than later. After being under the media glare with the Jets, going to a much lower-profile team could do Sanchez some good. Few places are more under-the-radar than Buffalo.

La Canfora was referring to the fact that with Manuel’s injuries, his backup could get significant starting opportunities in 2014 and beyond.

That guy just might be Mark Sanchez.

The Rules Of The Range

1) Every thought should be a thread.

2) The Bills should seriously consider every available player.

3) Every good player wants to play for the Bills.

4) Every team with a need to fill is looking at trading with the Bills.

Good backup. Could have been good if he ever had a offensive line and talent at the wide receiver position.

He had that his first 2 years in the league when he had an elite running game.

Signing Mark Sanchez would be an open admission they wasted a draft pick on E.J. Manuel.

Are you guys serious ???

Sanchez is an abomination of a quarterback. One of the very worst in the NFL. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the Bills. Not even as the third stringer on the practice squad.

Come on guys, lets stop. No way to Mark Sanchez. What about the butt fumble fiasco makes you think he has his head on right to do anything in this league. He lucked out with a great run game and defense his first couple seasons in the league. The guy just isn't good.

He is better than Thad lewis

^^ THIS...remember its the BACKUP QB....id take Sanchez any day over lewis in the backup role...if they wanted to do a rotation of EJ,Sanchez,Lewis id be fine with that.

No it would show they wanted a backup with NFL starting experience and he has several years of that. Was he a great QB NOPE...is he better than any backup we currently have YUP...Now would I rather get someone else even MORE competent..but its Buffalo lol.
