He is not better than Byrd, or even as good IMO. He also has had some issue staying healthy. That said, he will be cheaper and he does know the D and he is more physical in run support which cannot hurt us at this point. I'll be happy if we sign him. He will be a better bargain.

They need to find someone. Searcy is not a starting safety. He's decent in certain packages, but he shouldn't be out there full time. I felt better with Leonard out there than Searcy.

Terry Pegula talking about Rex Ryan

"This guy right here tells his realtor, 'Where does the most snow fall in the area? I want to live there.' How Buffalo is that?"

That's part of the problem here. They drafted Searcy in the 4th round 3 years ago and then spent a 4th and 5th rounder on the position last year in Williams and Meeks. Good teams develop those players into starters. Maybe Duke Williams can play? Who knows? I agree with most, however, that they should seek out a viable starter in FA.

Aaron Williams can probably play FS so they could sign a SS if that were the best option.

lol at "he's just as good or better than Byrd"

Delmas is a good player and would be a solid replacement, but lets not get stupid.

Honestly, I'm going to get ripped on for saying this but I'd love to see Donte Whitner come back. Solid but unspectacular, at least the guy was pissed off because he WANTED to stay in Buffalo.........

I wouldn't mind getting Whitner back but, if I recall correctly, the only reason he wanted to stay in Buffalo is because he was getting absolutely no interest on the fa market.

He's a good player but the expectations of being a high 1st round pick killed him. Had he been a 2nd round pick people would have loved him.

Oh, come on. He was drafted in the 4th round. I'd be surprised if half of the 4th round picks from that draft are still with the team that took them.

Sure there are exceptions but in general those rounds are for depth players and special teams. I'm happy with the production we have gotten out of Searcy.

Stupid Shefter

Andy did you hear about this one?-REM . "I don't think I'm easy to talk about. I've got a very irregular head. And I'm not anything that you think I am anyway". -Syd Barrett, founder of Pink Floyd. Rolling Stone, December 1971.  https://nativeamericanchurches.org/ My Adopt A Bill is Stefon Diggs  My 2nd Adopt A Bill is Christian Wade(he gets an exemption and doesn't require a spot) :)    Being staff seemed unable to train an elite legend how to run, Cole Beasley is my backup.   (I doubt that explanation is wanted).
