Trump and MAGA is a minority part of the Republican Party and 45% of Independents said they won't vote for him period and other independents who said they might consider voting for him but then plummet if Trump is convicted of felonies. (Spoiler alert* Trump will be convicted of felonies by April of 2024.) You can't win a presidential election if you don't have Independents. From a NPR article from March of 2023: **A survey of more than 1300 adults also found that despite the love for him among Republicans, Trump remains highly disliked, continues to struggle mightily with Independents and 6 in 10 Americans don't want him to be president ever again. Of course Trump continues to scream "election fraud and witch Hunt" but most Americans don't agree with him. By a 56% to 41% margin respondents said the investigation are Fair and not a " witch hunt". As expected, there's a huge partisan divide - 9 in 10 Democrats say the investigations are fair, while 8 in 10 Republicans call them a witch hunt. A slim majority of Independents call them fair, but they are closely split, 51% to 47%. Those most likely to say the investigations are fair are those in Gen z and Millennial generations, people who live in big cities and suburbs, and white College graduates, especially college educated white Women. The latter is a demographic that's been one of the most reliable Democratic voting - and anti -Trump groups. Those most likely to say the investigations are a witch hunt were core Trump supporting groups: white men without degrees, white evangelical Christians and those who live in small towns. Three-quarters say Trump has either done something illegal ( 46%) or unethical (29%). Only a quarter (23%) think he has done nothing wrong. But only 10% of Republicans think Trump did something illegal. They are more split when it comes to whether Trump did something unethical or nothing wrong- 45% say nothing wrong, 43% say he's done something unethical but not illegal.** Now remember by next November 2024, Trump will already be convicted of at least 4 felony counts in Jan. 6 trial in D.C. and D.A. Fani Willis from Fulton County Georgia has also said as recent as yesterday, that she is asking the Judge Scott McAfee in Georgia to set the RICO trial for the remaining co-defendants and Trump for August 5, 2024, three months before the 2024 election. Which means Trump will be sitting in a Georgia court room - during the summer and fall, winter and possibly till the Spring of 2025, if this trial takes that long. Also she said that the remaining co-defendants will be given till June of 2024 to decide if they will take a plea deal voluntarily and if not they will get the deal the state offers and have no choice. If they insist on going to trial then Fani will ask for the maximum punishment once convicted. The amount of people that will be sitting there will be a small handful or less by trial date.
