Crazy Legs
Hiring a new OC is not that simple, unless you want to hire a retread, with a previously bad record. I don't have any interest in that. So if you are going to make a change, you want to hire someone that is going to be an UPGRADE. But usually you can't hire someone else's Offensive Coordinator. That is a lateral move. One possibility is another team's Quarterback coach. Yet, IMO you don't want to automatically hire Patrick Mahomes QB coach because of the success Mahomes has had. I would rather consider a QB coach that lifted a meh QB to acceptable, for example. Based on that, who do we think the Bills could hire to be their potentially new 2024 OC? Dan Pitcher? (Currently QB coach with the Bengals and born in Central NY) Tavita Pritchard? (QB coach with the Commanders) Garrett Riley? (OC at Clemson) Kendal Briles, (OC at TCU) Warren Ruggiero (OC at Wake Forest) Josh McCown? (Coaching for Carolina!) Shea Tierney? (Giants' quarterbacks coach)

I know you say that somewhat in hoping/jest because we all know there is no way, no how Terry Pegula will fire Sean McDermott after this season. 1) You have to look at Sean's 5 year track record. Multiple AFC East crowns. 4 consecutive playoff appearances and a 67–39 record <--- hard to find some with that record or better. 2) Terry gave him a contract extension recently. It runs thru 2027. Translation: Mr. Pegula has to pay Sean for 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 whether he is coach or not. $$$
jpp
I think the bigger question is can McD improve once in the playoffs? That's where many think the ceiling has already been hit....
Nuke
Get ready for someone that’s even more of a “complementary” game managing OC. McDermott is never hiring another Daboll. Run, run, short throw. Give the defense time to rest. 1 Quote Ed Oliver is my adopt-a-Bill

If you have a good running game, and add in Josh throwing to Diggs, Kincaid, Shakir, Cooks, etc, - that "balanced" offense could eat up other teams. Ball control PLUS scoring points.

You would think, but now a days anything can happen, I mean Cleveland hired and fired coaches after 1 season quite a bit. If they don't win another game, he sure can be fired

Crazy Legs
Tavita Pritchard is the QB coach of the Washington Commanders. Age 36. Depending on how the win-loss record turns out for the Commanders, Ron Riveria could be let go at the end of the year, which usually means a lot of the assistants are also let go. He played football for Stanford from 2006 to 2009. Defensive Asst at Stanford 2011-2012 RBs coach at Stanford 2013 QB & WR coach at Stanford 2014-2017 OC & QB coach at Stanford 2018-2022 In 2020, Pritchard coached quarterback QB Davis Mills, a third-round draft pick of the Houston Texans. Stanford averaged 420.2 yards per game offensively, including 287.3 yards per game through the air and 132.8 on the ground. Current QBs coach for Washington. Crazy Legs
IMO Joe Brady is just a place holder. His OC experience in Carolina wasn't great. So we need to find, locate and recruit a NEW OC. Which is not easy. You can't grab a good OC from another team. That is a lateral move. It might have to be from the college ranks. OR a really good QB coach with another team. Crazy Legs
Zac Robinson, Rams QB Coach - Zac Robinson is in his fifth season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2023, his second as the quarterbacks coach and pass game coordinator. I don't know if he is ready though. Do we need someone older to mentor Josh? Darrell Bevell, Dolphins QB Coach - he has a ton of experience. Both as an OC and a QB's coach. Pat Shurmur - currently co-Offensive Coordinator at Colorado. Lot of experience. Garrett Riley - current OC at Clemson. Brother of Lincoln Riley. Very young, but has had some success. He went to TCU as their OC in 2022 and he transformed the unit into the nation’s ninth-ranked scoring offense at 38.8 points per game. The explosive group led the FBS with 22 plays from scrimmage of 50 yards or more. Ideally you hire an OC that can command Josh Allen's respect, and provide an offensive style to take advantage of Josh's unicorn skill set. Any others?
