Democrats showing who they are (We already knew)

Recommended Posts

Democrats all over America and many in key positions in our own government celebrated the slaughter of Jews and are now marching to support the terrorist factions in the middle east. Our ivy league schools openly are supporting antisemitism and terrorists by allowing trash to fly banners and hold rallies celebrating the massacre in Israel. "Professors" are shown giddy in laughter and celebration explaining their joy. Finally, wealthy donors are severing ties from these "schools".

The squad members, Ihan Omar, Rashida Tlaib have been quite vocal in supporting the terror and displaying hatred for Israel while supporting terrorist propaganda. Hopefully the Jewish voters in NYC have finally seen enough and will no longer support the real party of HATE.

You guys are delusional (retarded?) buying into the rw propaganda.

The students protesting at  these elite universities are not close to being representative of liberals in general and progressives on the left.

They may mean well, we don't know. They could be infiltrated by rwnj's trying to make the left look bad,  like what they did with BLM.

A few things:

1. Most on the left are not anti Jew or even anti zionist, the idea that the Jewish people need a homeland.  Given the history of the world from 70 AD/CE to 1948 AD/CE you'd have to be a complete piece of trash to not want the Jewish people to have a homeland that could protect their interests.  What most on the left, who have given any thought to this, is Israel's treatment of the Palestinians.

2. No matter what Bill Maher says, what Israel does, through its excessive use of military force, its indiscriminate killing of civilians, its expelling Palestinians from their homes and giving them to Jewish settlers, and literally walling off Palestinians from economic opportunities and rendering them effectively second class citizens smacks of at least Jim Crow segregation and borders on apartheid. As much as you hate HAMAS, and you should, you have to understand that the way Israel has treated the Palestinians over the past 80 years only serves to radicalize them and make them more susceptible to engaging and supporting terrorists such as HAMAS.  Israel's treatment of Palestinians is self destructive and only plays into the hands of the very people, HAMAS and other terror groups, who want to destroy them.

3. Much of my support for the Palestinians, in case you still don't get it I support them, not HAMAS, and I don't think they should be collectively punished due to HAMAS and nor does international law, is rooted in my loathing of Atlanticist imperialism.  Want to know why the middle east is such a mess as is Israel? Well I spoke much longer about this in another thread that ICR and Lit's feuding derailed, but very briefly to get allies to fight the central powers in WWI Britain and France promised the Arabs (see Lawrence of Arabia) all of Turkey's former lands except Palestine if they'd fight the Turks.  This was the Faisal Weissman agreements.  At the same time the British promised their most prominent Jews that there would be a "Jewish Mandate" in Palestine.  This was the Balfour Declaration.  Now had these two items been the only treaties in play, 20th and 21st century history -at least in Southwest Asia - is probably a lot less heated and a lot less bloody.  There's probably a very strong -maybe even democratic -Arab republic capitaled in Damascus and a very prosperous and very strong Israel capitaled in Jerusalem.  This of course didn't happen because there was oil in them Arab sands and so in 1916 and 1917 the British and French decided to divide the lands they promised to the Arabs among themselves while doing nothing to upend the Balfour declaration.

So long story short, the French and British screwed over the Arabs and started sending British and French and Russian emigres and other European Jews to the Palestinian mandate and to the Arabs this looked a lot like Imperialism and colonialism and it was.

4. I want to make this perfectly clear, what happened to the Jews 80 years ago does not excuse Israel's brutal repression of Palestinians over the past 8 decades and as important, Israel's brutality of the Palestinians does not excuse the Holocaust

What I, as a leftist, want in the Holyland:

1. Jerusalem to be made an international city under control of a rotation of Christian, Jewish, and Islamic leadership.

2. An end to Israel's illegal occupation and settlements on Palestinian lands.  They have broken multiple treaties on this.

3. A complete dismantling of HAMAS and other terrorist groups

4. A complete weapons embargo on both Israel and Palestine.

5. UN peacekeepers on the Israel/Gaza and Israel/West Bank borders and a thorough and permanent war crimes investigation commission

6. Either a two state solution with immediate international recognition of both Israel and Palestine or a one state solution where Palestinians are afforded equal rights with Israelis.

Hamas attacked Jewish civilians and cut their kids heads off. Hamas is getting what they deserve. Unfortunately the Palestinian people are caught in this but they voted for Hamas. To say Israel is attacking Palestinians on purpose is irresponsible and quite frankly antisemitic.

It's interesting how the virtue signallers are praising Israel for kicking the shit out of Palestine while wailing over Russia kicking the shit out of Ukraine.

Just a heads up I am not a Democrat. I will happily vote for anyone who I feel will do the job well. Parties mean nothing to me. The Squad is wrong for their support of Palestine and they should be votes out.

Israel has kicked the crap out of everyone in the middle east since 1948. They would wipe their ass with Canada if they had to. Even Haiti would whoop your ass. Lol.

There has been a lot of infighting on the Democratic Underground. No firm marching orders on which side to support.

For the time being the flags remain Ukraine, not Israeli or Palestinian.
