The New York Jets won in Week 1, but their Super Bowl LVIII chances have tumbled following Aaron Rodgers’ injury. Here’s what you need to know from the updated Super Bowl odds, via BetMGM:

• New York dropped to +5000 after toppling the Super Bowl-contending Buffalo Billseven after losing Rodgers in the first quarter of Monday night’s game.
• The Jets entered Week 1 at +1800, which was tied for seventh with the Baltimore Ravens.
• The Kansas City Chiefs remain the favorite to win Super Bowl LVIII, but the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers have closed the gap.

Be careful with overreactions

Overreacting to Week 1 or even the first few weeks of the NFL season can be fool’s gold. One team that I had circled in the preseason was the Miami Dolphins, and at +1600, there still might be some value in them winning the Super Bowl, if Tagovailoa can stay healthy. The addition of Vic Fangio as defensive coordinator raises the bar for this team even more.

The Cowboys at +1100 doesn’t seem like great value despite their 40-0 win against the Giants in Week 1. If Dallas played in the AFC instead of the NFC, where would we rank it? It helps having an easier path to the Super Bowl, but this team will need to continue to prove itself throughout the season. — DeWit
