Yes, he appears to be the 4th CB.   But you always need good backup corners.

Trading him wouldn't net enough value, IMO.     Other teams can see he is boundary line starter (if you don't have good corners).  What is that worth?   A 4th?   No thanks.

MusT bE NIcE to have a 4th CB who the staff changed their rotation and rolled with in the playoffs last season!  (my impression of seand there :)).

 

Also, during the Miami game during crunch time, it was his turn to be off the field and they left him in.  I too called it last season that despite their many adversities, the Bills were still using some gamesmanship and that it would be proven later.  It was.  Anyone who wants to hit the bottle or their prozac can feel free.  The weekend he was drafted I reviewed enough on him(I am no CL, or JS....and I'd imagine SD may have watched him the most), but said he seemed like a potentially high ceiling guy who was the least NFL ready of the bug names.

So throw out the 3 years for evaluating a draft class, and not even wait until after game 1 of season 2?  Again, he played in the playoffs and stayed in vs Miami to guard All World Hill on the final plays.  He made a clean breakup in doing so, and I deem to recall he almost picked that pass off.  

@Crazy Joe DavolaI, I took a peek on here awhile back and one of the most encouraging posts(other than @seandelevan rightly standing up to @daryls61 after being lambasted for agreeing with him[lol], and also Daryls' reply for acknowledging such) was yours when it looked like your surprisingly were back on board and replied to someone that you were going to act logically and enjoy your team.  Kudos, and I hope the recent posts I've read don't mean you've changed your mind.

 

The main thing I might be concerned with, is in opposition to all of the rest of HCSM's tenure, The Curse Of the daryls does not appear as if it has subsided, in my observation.   Others may disagree.  FWIW, like late last season, I have again(this time conditionally, due to extremely odd illogical behavior by 3 OC's in 2 seasons toward 1 player) rescinded my addendum to the curse of OBD's extremely unethical / un-American (let alone for men who attach themselves as representatives of a particular faith).

That aside - they did not stumble upon him because he was the pick of the litter in their eyes.  From what I remember -- and anyone who reads this post has my blessing to bust my balls if I have it wrong -- the Bills were the only FO to follow up with JA17 and WTF him after the twitter stuff came out right before draft day.

They absolutely get credit for that.  They got it right, but at the time they had no idea how much potential he had.

JA17 and Jordan Palmer get the credit for JA17 becoming the premier QB in the NFL.  NOT DABOLL.

Don’t get me started. I said this BEFORE they drafted him. I already knew what McDermott was about. Before that draft he was the guy who said you can win in the NFL by scoring 21 points. This is the guy who, once they got a lead, would just sit on the ball and try to milk clock. This is the guy that in 2017 we watched MULTIPLE boring, watching paint dry type games with scores like 16-10….with that playoff game as the chefs kiss. This is the guy that turned Tyrod Taylor into a god damned check down machine.

Time to get over this and let it die. Bottom line is JA17 is a solid top 5 qb that 95% of the league would love to trade starting qb's with us. As the starting qb goes so does the team, and Allen is the only/main reason the Bills have had the recent success they have. Hopefully Beane addresses backup qb before the season starts to give them a realistic chance of winning if Allen would go down for a number of games, Let's say 17 goes down for one month, a quality backup would more than likely be the difference between making the playoffs or going home.

They don't like the way he practices lmao, in the games I've seen him play, he's been one of the better CBs on the team, but but he doesn't practice well.....well, if practicing well was the be all end all, Nathan Peterman would've been an all pro

 

Also we didn't just use a 1st we also traded a 4th to move up to get him....think about how poorly they've drafted outside of Allen, the best pick has been Dane Jackson

To make matters worse…they did what I wanted them to do later anyways. They drafted Benford and now he looks like he might start while your first round corner could be inactive on game days.

That’s the beauty of forums like this….there are receipts for everything said. So when dorks say hindsight is 20/20 and X amount of teams also passed over so and so….ummm no….no. Ummm I said we should have drafted AJ Brown or Breece Hall or John Taylor etc etc and NOT draft Elam or Ed Oliver. It’s a beautiful thing.

I’m with you on A.J. Brown - I liked him better than Metcalf and if I was a draftnik snob I would say: “I had him rated higher on my board…”.  I’m not that guy…
