This is a list of countries ranked by the proportion of the population that is obese. The data, barring the United States, is derived from The World Factbook authored by the Central Intelligence Agency,[1] which gives the adult prevalence rate for obesity, defined as "the percent of a country's population considered to be obese". Data for U.S. obesity prevalence is derived from CDC data, recorded through the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in March 2017 – 2020.[2]

No, it says something about the corn lobby

Certainly seems appropriate.

Care to, ahem, expand?

One of the big reasons American food is so unhealthy is because we use so much high fructose corn syrup as opposed to cane sugar.  The reason for that is because corn is a major cash crop, so the corn lobby got very powerful.

Learn more about that and other reasons America's food is bad here:

The high fructose corn syrup thing has been known for a long time.

It's not in everything.

Which is in bed with the energy sector.  Its why they grow too much corn in western Kansas even though wheat would be far better for the Ogallala aquifer.  If you think food prices are bad now, just wait until that dries up

It has way more to do about the poison the FDA allows as “food”

That too, but when the FDA has too little oversight enforcement and both dems and republicans think everything but big bombing, tax cuts for the corporatists, and half assed attempts at immigration reform is way too expensive this is what you get.  This country needs an enema
