Is this 2022 all over again?

We are signing Dlinemen to one year deals again. I get why. It just didn't really pan out last year. What do they say about doing the same thing and expecting different results?

Anyway. If Floyd has some juice left in the tank this could be a great move for us.

They are deals close to the veteran minimum.
No one is going to sign a 3 year deal for the veteran minimum. They are banking on having a break out year and maybe getting one last pay day.

What does this do to the depth chart at DE? How many will we keep? Von, Floyd and Rousseau are safe. Lawson in my opinion should be safe too, he's great against the run. You obviously don't need to rush Von back now. Either Boogie or AJ or both may be gone after camp. If it's the latter, we've gotten a lot older at the DE position.

DE (6): Von, Rousseau, Floyd, Shaq, AJ, Boogie

DT (5): Oliver, Jones, Poona, Phillips, Settle

Someone’s not sticking around.

Von will be on the PUP list for a while. Think they will keep everyone until he comes back. Shane Ray to the practice squad

Von starts out on the PUP, once he returns in week five, practice squad/cut/trade or another injury will determine what we do with the guy who has played the worse.

Someone's bound to get hurt, then they'll likely cut Settle and trade either Boogie or Epenesa

Does this mean Von Miller will likely start the beginning of the year on PUP?

Probably, but with this signing it also means we don't risk Von until playoff time and while Von is nice to have in September you really want him in the grind of January.  This guy stays healthy and we have Von, damn. . . .
