drpepper
The Bills have locked up one of their key defensive players for years to come. Buffalo has agreed to a four-year contract extension with defensive tackle Ed Oliver, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal is reportedly worth $68 million with $45 million guaranteed. Apparently media "midgets" are now saying Hopkins to Cleveland to reunite with Watson.....IMO wont make much of a difference as long as they still have Stifansky...
bcw
1 hour ago, RichJ said: No money left for Hopkins? This shouldn't hurt our cap this year. It's an extension so he still is playing under his old 5th year option before this 4 year extension kicks in. If they wanted to they could get cap space for this year out of the deal too.

SpikedLemonade
I like Ed Oliver and his potential. However, his potential must be realized THIS year if this contract is going to make sense. I would NOT have thought he was a $15M+/yr player however I am sure the Bills and Oliver’s Agent know the market better than me. 1 Quote Do Your Part to Improve The Range -- Please put the TRIO OF TRUMP FLUFFERSTM on IGNORE

daryls61
15th highest paid DT is fine I guess. Not a lot of splash plays though. 1 Quote The Things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us. CBennett
Again the Bills wasting $$ on a underachieving DL man thats never lived up to even ANYWHERE in the first round draft status(this guy PLAYS like a 2-4th rounder not a 1st) if he was a 3rd rounder id probably be saying good signing he is playing better than he should or at least to his level. but as a first he is way under what he should be. Our D always plays small in big games thats been the trend in any game where they need to make a stop in the last 3 years.... no matter their supposed "ranking" they always seem to be able to find the way NOT to make a play when its a big (playoff) game and it counts.. we have a top 5 in the league QB who currently has 1 weapon..Diggs... and basically nothing else around him.. so they are spending $$ on D again instead of O to help get him weapons to actually score points? Yeah lets just let him have diggs while guys are rolling a TRUE #1/#2 WR combo and a decent slot guy and a good TE..... I dont even know if id put the Bills WR/TE group as a whole in the top 10 of the league.. and if they would be they are at the very ass end of the top 10 just because of Diggs alone.. I guess I just dont understand how you have a QB of Allens caliber and you refuse..literally refuse to get him any weapons outside diggs. 1 Quote Adopt a Bill
CBennett
16 hours ago, RichJ said: No money left for Hopkins? Why sign offense when you can resign UNDERachieving D! why pay a real decent WR when you can pay a 1st rounder that plays like a 4th rounder who finally came around and is now decent... yes Oliver IS decent.. he isnt BAD not at all.. what he isnt is 1st rounder caliber higher draft pick worthy..aka he plays smaller..far smaller than his draft position. Victor7
This is a gamble IMO. Oliver has shown flashes. We all know that. But he has not found consistency. Is getting paid going to help that? ... who knows. Then again he didn't exactly break the bank. So if Oliver balls out this year we probably saved some dollars with the early deal. Guess it all depends on what Ed Oliver we get for 2023 1 Quote Bills fan for life!! ................
