Uganda has passed one of the world's toughest anti-gay laws that calls for life imprisonment for anyone convicted of homosexuality. Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni signed the Anti-homosexuality act on Monday despite widespread condemnation from many Western governments and human rights activists. Same-sex relations were already illegal in Uganda, a religiously conservative East African nation. But the new law levies harsher penalties for LGBTQ people. It calls for the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality," which is defined as same-sex relations involving HIV-positive people, children or other vulnerable people. Anyone convicted of "attempted aggravated homosexuality" can be imprisoned for up to 14 years. Look, I disagree with you on transgender but I respect the fact that you know your stuff and unlike so many who take controversial stances you can find peer reviewed sources that support your position because that shows you aren't just parroting shit. However, when you are pushing an agenda some are far more adverse to than me, its not a good strategy because people are already defensive when they don't understand something and when you celebrate violence or suggest they partake in self harm it is not likely to win over many to your cause. Yes, this place is full of assholes, left, right, center, etc but if you are interested in meaningful discussion and promoting people who are severely marginalized then you may wish to cut out the personal attack stuff.
