The Buffalo Sabres ended last season one point shy of the playoffs, setting the stage for what could be a crucial offseason. General manager Kevyn Adams and coach Don Granato have successfully pulled the Sabres out of the league’s basement but now have some tough decisions to make about the future of the roster. Next season will carry the highest expectations either Adams or Granato has faced since taking their current jobs. The window for the team to become a contender is opening. Fan optimism has returned.

How will they handle Devon Levi and the rest of the goaltending situation? Will either Matt Savoie or Jiri Kulich be ready to crack the NHL lineup? What additions do the Sabres need to make to their roster?

Sabres fans have dealt with 12 straight seasons without the playoffs but have still shown their passion for the sport, especially in our comments section. So we wanted to solicit opinions from our subscribers on the biggest issues facing the Sabres on and off the ice in our offseason fan survey.

While the Sabres do need to upgrade the defense. I think they have one of the best groups of forwards in the league. Best part is they are young and only going to get better. While it was a small sample size Levi showed signs that he can be a top-level goalie. We will see if he can carry the load over a full season. My prediction is the Sabres will have a breakout season in 2023-24. Similar to what the Devils did this past season.

I feel the same way. I've been thinking that this is the first year I look forward to the season starting in a long time.

I think we beat every top team at least once and smashed the Bruins on their ice.
