SpikedLemonade
NAACP among civil rights groups warning tourists about Florida in wake of 'hostile' laws Latino civil rights organization, gay rights advocacy group have also issued travel advisories for the state The NAACP over the weekend issued a travel advisory for Florida, joining two other civil rights groups in warning potential tourists that recent laws and policies championed by Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida lawmakers are "openly hostile toward African Americans, people of colour and LGBTQ+ individuals." The NAACP, long an advocate for Black Americans, joined the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), a Latino civil rights organization, and Equality Florida, a gay rights advocacy group, in issuing travel advisories for the Sunshine State, where tourism is one of the state's largest job sectors. The warning approved Saturday by the NAACP's board of directors tells tourists that before travelling to Florida, they should understand that the state "devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by African Americans and other communities of colour.".... https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/florida-travel-warnings-naacp-lgbtq-1.6850920 1 Quote Do Your Part to Improve The Range -- Please put the TRIO OF TRUMP FLUFFERSTM on IGNORE

micknaboz
I pray I live long enough to see Florida being overrun by the sea. Sadly I don't think I'll live long enough to see the worst of it. "Florida is expected to be heavily impacted by rising sea levels. More specifically, the impacts will be felt most strongly in South Florida. Scientists expect the lower third of the state to be underwater by 2100, according to The Guardian." Miami is already suffering from flooding and predictions are much worse for the next few decades. Color me laughing. 1 Quote [/img]

They are part of our Union and wish them well. Just unfortunate certain politicians have chose to exploit racism to get votes. In the end they will fail. Yeah part of me usually hesitates to wish ill on a whole state or area, because, like you say, I'm sure there are some good people there. Just not enough, and they're all guilty for putting a pos like deSantis in office or doing nothing to oppose him. Within 20 years or so, a lot of them climate refugees and will be forced to leave FL and the funny part is they'll be heading to places like NE that they always mock. 1 Quote [/img]

Just for sake of honest discussion, what is your solution? NIMBY is not a solution. What is your strategy to cut down on homelessness? What drives homelessness? Why are we seeing more homeless than ever? Tell us. I won't judge you at least too harshly but I am curious. What causes it and what can we do to prevent it and end it or at least greatly reduce it?
