Did Buffalo Bills get the shaft? How NFL set New York Jets up for success with 2023 schedule

Recommended Posts

If the new-look New York Jets struggle in 2023, it won’t be for a lack of rest.

The NFL set up the Jets better than almost every other team in the league with how their games fall in the schedule this season. No team has more net rest days than the Jets’ +12, according to a detailed Twitter thread published by Walter Sharp from SharpFootballAnalysis.com.

The Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders both are also +12 in net rest days. In total, five teams have more than +10 net rest days, including the Tennessee Titans (+11) and the Cleveland Browns (+10).

The Buffalo Bills come in at an even 0 net rest days, but they do get more than a week of preparation time for both the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14 and the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 9. The San Francisco 49ers come in at a -20 in net rest days, by far the most lop-sided of any team in the league. The Chiefs have a -13 net rest day disadvantage this season.

The AFC East faces the toughest schedule in the NFL this season. The Jets rank 26th, the Dolphins rank 28th, the Bills rank 31st, and the Patriots have the hardest schedule in the NFL.

The Jets only leave MetLife Stadium two times from Week 1-9 this season. They don’t leave New York state from Oct. 5 through Nov. 12 and only seven of their 17 total games are outside NY/New Jersey.

There won’t be a single AFC East game that the Jets play with a rest disadvantage. In the team’s final four AFC East games of the season, New York holds the rest advantage over the Bills in Week 11 coming off Monday Night Football, the Dolphins in Week 15 coming off Monday Night Football, and the Patriots in Week 18 (the Jets play on Thursday night football in Week 17, giving them three extra days of rest). The Jets and Dolphins play on Black Friday for Week 12 and the Dolphins are the road team on a short week

Drink a gallon of gas and then stick a lit road flare up your ass and die immediately.

Not to change the subject, but the Jets got a lot of favorable scheduling.  More time for Rodgers to heal between games?

Yes, I bring more substance to everything. You bring idiocy and childishness.

You need a few bucks to fill that gas can?
