Popular Post miamibillsnut
Same as it has been for years. Not use one. And since Edmunds was invisible or in the wrong area code most plays there will probably be improvement 5 Quote Sin is nothing to celebrate, have pride in, or hold parades for. Baldat28
Simple, they play big nickel, Bernard/Williams/Rapp on passing downs, and Klein in on short yard situations

JS12
Someone will step up. Dodson, Bernard, the rookie. I think one of them will emerge and surprise all of us, and be pretty decent. And like others have said Edmunds was very overrated. I think we’ll be okay.
SpikedLemonade
I just don't know how we did NOT plug our hole at MLB by signing Bobby Wagner who ended up signing in Seattle for a song. 1 Quote Do Your Part to Improve The Range -- Please put the TRIO OF TRUMP FLUFFERSTM on IGNORE
daryls61
Spector will be the starting MLB. 1 Quote The Things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us. "Are you a Jedi?" daryls61
Another thought. Bills base D is a hybrid 3/4 with the 4 being Millano, Bernard, Williams and T Johnson? Von returns to a stand up olb when he returns. The DL would be Groot at DE with Poo and EO at DT. 1 Quote The Things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us. "Are you a Jedi?" bcw
Beane made it sound like it will be a competition between Bernard, Dodson and Spector. I thought Klein would be a good option but it looks like he is "break in case of emergency" situation.

Popular Post miamibillsnut
If they are going to continue to use nickel as their base this is pretty much a non issue. Just keep scoring. Beane / McDermott do in fact plan to see who will start at MLB: Either Tyrel Dodson or Terrel Bernard. AJ Klein is a veteran, break glass in case of an emergency, backup. Dorian Williams? He is a rookie, and Beane indicated Dorian has a lot to learn, because he came from a simple defense at Tulane. Thus, expect DW to work first at OLB while he is learning the system and adjusting to the Bills scheme. GREAT NEWS THOUGH. I saw a new interview with Beane yesterday where he admitted Tremaine was not that great at coverage, except for his long wingspan. He also hinted at Tremaine struggling getting off blocks fast enough, and that he couldn't get off those blocks quick enough to get to the QB. I think Beane is looking forward to eventually having a more EFFECTIVE MLB when it comes to making plays. Go Bills. 2
rcas0308
Simple running downs Dodson/Klein, passing downs Williams/Bernard = better than just T Edmunds. Bills were 31st in the NFL at run defense in the middle of the field at 5.1 ypc. That was because TE sucked at getting off blocks and reading the defense. Add specialist who are good at what they do plus Poona Ford. It can only improve

It always looked like Tremaine was making the tackle at about 6-7 yards downfield. So it makes sense.

It's not exactly like those two are complete duds in coverage. Just not their specialty. Matter of fact I don't think Edmonds had a specialty. He wasn't great at anything. He just looked the part. Zan186
MLB becomes a concern against run heavy teams, and against KC and the Bengals. Outside of those two teams the Bills should be able to generate enough points so that the opposing offense has to almost always pass to catch up.
