Crazy Legs Draft Day Top 10 Takes - Beane is going to draft....

Recommended Posts

What will Beane do?

Beane has a couple of parameters he has to balance in this draft.

1)  He only has 6 picks.   He likes having more.  IMO he is not going to go nuts and trade up and give away a bunch of picks.

2) The Cap is a real thing, and he restructured Josh and Von Miller, and extended Milano this year so he has big Cap Hits coming in 2024.
Therefore he needs to get as many rookies on cheap contracts as possible, that is another reason to hold onto his picks.
That said, he may try to trade down, at some point, to pick up a pick or two.

3)  Dhop?  Beane would love to figure out a way to get him, but the Cap is a challenge.  Plus DeHop is 31 this year. His Cap Hit is $30 million this year, and $26 million next year.
(I still want Beane to try and trade for Rashod Bateman...but that is wishful thinking)

4)  Wide Receiver.  Beane would love to get a really good WR in the 1st round.  But they may all be gone when Beane picks.

5)  DeeTackle.  We need DTs for years 2024 and beyond.  He will draft one somewhere.

6) Pre-Draft Visits and Private Workouts.   They can matter.   Last year Kaiir, James Cook and Christian Benford were 30 visits, and Terrel Bernard was a Private workout.

7)  That said, Beane has brought in a lot of WRs, DL, TEs, and some OLine, some RBs and some Safeties.   Expect those positons to be the ones he looks at first.

8)  IMO we are not drafting a LB in the 1st round.  It would be a surprise.

9)  Bijan Robinson is not falling to pick 27.  Sorry.

10)  Of the 30 visits and Private Workouts the Bills have looked at I would like these players:
OL Matthew Bergeron, SAF Brian Branch, OC Joe Tippmann, DE Will McDonald, DT Mazi Smith,  WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba,   RB Zach Charbonnet, WR Jordan Addison, TE Luke Musgrave and TE Luke Schoonmaker.

Get after it Brandon!    Go Bills!

The real DHOP cap hit.  Why would the Bills care about money they don’t have to pay him?

What a bargain!   :classic_rolleyes:

I am most worry about 2024.      Josh's hit is $56.5 million, Von Miller's is $23.8 million, Diggs is $27.8 million, and Milano's is $12.5 milion.
We have already restructured/extended all these guys....for example Diggs contract goes to 2027 already, so we used up those moves.

Fitting DHop in for 2024 is just a big challenge.  Stacking another $26 million onto the '24 Cap Tracker would be tough.
