If an owner guarantees a $250 million contract, he is required by the rules to IMMEDIATELY escrow $250 million, in cash. Not insignificant amount of cash for anyone. The Watson contract was an epic failure by the Browns organization that will bite them in the ass and isn't likely to be followed by any other team except for some kind of once-in-a-generation player situation which isn't him. What chaps my ass is that this guy wants better than Mahomes and Allen yet is often injured and hasn't won jack shit in the playoffs. At one point Lamar had what looked like all the leverage but right now no one wants anything to do with him and he is going to accept far less guaranteed money and a smaller contract than than he was asking for. Still substantial amount of CASH to escrow, but more palatable than $250 million. It reminds me of short- sighted, greedy and cheap friends who did not do their research and know a good value. These types always lose out.
