Crazy Legs
How many of the rookies do you think will win a starting job? Or even see the field a significant amount of time? Rookies starting. McDermott is notorious for slow rolling rookies. Even high picks. Plus, is a rookie going to beat out Dion Dawkins? Mitch Morse? Tre White? Jordan Poyer? Matt Milano? Tauron Johnson? I think most of the draft picks this year will be future guys and be backups this year. Kaiir Elam/Christian Benford only got on the field last because we had no one at CB2. James Cook eventually got on the field, mostly after we traded Zach Moss, so RB2 slot became open. Khalil Shakir eventually got a bit more playing time in November, December and playoffs. But there was no one else for WR4/5. So where do you see our rookie draft picks cracking the starting roster? I think there might be 3 spots: MLB, WR2 and RT. But there is no guarantee your 1st and 2nd round picks will yield a starter, or one of those positions. I really think this draft will be for players down the road. Hopefully find a safety that can be a good starter in 2 years. Hopefully find an IOL or Center that can be a solid starter in a year or 2. Hate to say it, but we also do need DT and DL. Ed Oliver will be gone after this year, Von Miller will be older, and the rest of our line is Just A bunch of Guys.
