Report: Bills to tender Dane Jackson as restricted free agent

The Bills reached a deal to re-sign Cam Lewis and they’re reportedly set to move to hold onto another one of their cornerbacks. Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that the Bills are set to tender Dane Jackson a contract as a restricted free agent. Fowler reports that Jackson is likely to receive the lowest tender. [more]

Paying Dane this much money makes it look like McDermott views him as the 3rd cb.

Does this mean Benford is definitely moving to safety now that Poyer is clearly not in the plans?

I would be ok with that. I liked what we saw in Benford. He earned a shot.

It has come out that he accepted a deal below the restricted free agent tender. 

This makes me feel better about bringing him back. Jackson is good depth but he's not worth $2.627 million.

Bills love them some Dane Jackson. Fine for depth and competition but hasnt shown he should be a regular starter.
