It's unfortunate, but I feel many people who have that extreme drive for power, political and otherwise often have an accompanying drive for deviance. Look at all the scandals in politicians over time. The bell curve for deviance I'm thinking looks much different amongst politicians as it does for the general population.

It's a big chicken/egg conundrum.  Did they pursue power so they could use it as an avenue for other monstrous ambitions?  Or did they obtain power and then develop the other monstrous ambitions when they realized there was a better-than-average chance that they'd be able to avoid accountability?

I imagine it's a bit of both.

I’ve heard that pedos gravitate toward employment or activities that put them in contact with children:  teachers, Boy Scout leader, clergy, etc.

makes sense to me.

when they asked Willie Sutton (infamous bank robber of yore) why he robbed banks, he said, “That’s where the money is”.

The thing is, a lot of the people who sexually abuse children aren't actually attracted to children at all.

If Willie Sutton were a child abuser, and you asked him why he did it, he'd have said "that's where the exploitable power imbalance is" instead.

careful now, you might appear too woke if you dont include trans people and drag queens on that list.
