LOL Whor, we have been over this before. Please refer to this information if you forget again. The best WR in the NFL have the most drops. Big Game Gabe has drops because the passes he has to catch have a much higher difficulty level so the chance of completion is lower. This actually shows how good he really is so thanks for pointing that out so I could share this information with you.

Special teams coach was not on board to say the least and went to McD and lobbied hard for a squib. McD relented. Compromised of sorts. Agreed to high short kick to the 7 or 5 like Bass did successfully for whole games in the regular season. If short kick Bass lines up with 3 step run up like a FG and kicks it inside the 10 forcing team to field it and return it to run off 5 or 6 seconds. No one will fair catch a ball inside 10 with only 13 sec left and needing a FG to tie.

Problem was NO ONE told Bass of the change in call. He went with first call and with full run up kicked it out of the end zone.

Levi knew the call was kick short of end zone to the left. That's why he stopped and demonstrated to sideline when ball went out of end zone.

Commnication failed. Many to blame. McD has never said why Bass did not get the new call or who was supposed to relay it. Just that they had an execution issue. Special teams coach left Bills after the game to take a lateral position. Never explained why.

McD should have made clear the change in call.

Special teams coach should have made clear to KO team including Bass the change in call.

Levi as ST captain should have made clear to the whole team of the change in call.

any and all players/coaches on sideline or on field when seeing bass lineup for full run up should have been yelling for timeout. They had TO's left that McD never misses a chance to use in situations when not needed yet this situation it was needed.

This whole unfortunate series of events was set in motion by a tactical strategy decision error by McD calling for kick out of end zone.

Had he called for short high kick right away or even a squib.......Bills would be drawing up a grand plaza spot at new stadium to hold the SB trophy they would have.

This is our life now as Bills fans. Constant disappointment and failures at the most crucial of times. No other coaching staff loses that game. No one.

yes they messed up too. But they had other circumstances. I rewatched the game after for years blaming Wade for calling Time Out too early. Leaving seconds on clock after FG that then required a KO and Bills ST were near the bottom of the league all year. Johnson was a sackable QB and loose with the ball so they made a risk assessment tactical decision.

TN called time out and gave Wade even more time to think it over. He stayed with FG attempt.

Since it was 1st down. In hindsight they should have had Johnson in deep shotgun and WR run straight down sideline to end zone and Johnson immediately throw very high ball over his head out of bounds.  This would burn off 5 to 6 seconds. Then do it again on 2nd down to get clock to 4 sec. Game over on FG attempt then and no KO. 

I am sure this haunts Wade to this day. So still coach fault, i guess.

I am never giving ball back to other team for crazy ending as a Bills coach. We fans have seen enough of that.
