Drafting a Wide Receiver to "fix the offense" versus drafting to upgrade the offensive line.

The NFL gives each team 7 draft picks.  However only one is a 1st round pick.  You get one gold bullet.

I don't subscribe to the theory of drafting a WR in the 1st round and magically the offense is going to be putting up 40 points a game no matter what, and that will take us straight to the Super Bowl.

That turd of a game we laid out there against the Bengals exposed a lot of the Bills limitations.

#1 Is the offensive line.    The week before Josh was sacked 7 times.   This week he was constantly harassed and pressured.  He even had 3 passes batted down, as well as one almost fumble, but they went to review and ruled it a forward pass.

Josh has the pocket collapsing on him too many times.  Yes, at times he scrambles and throws a touchdown when falling out of bounds,  that is not normal though.

Fix the damn offensive line.   Don't sign anymore at the end of their career Rodger Saffolds for $6 million dollars a year and hope the duct tape holds.  Go sign a free agent like the Lions Evan Brown.  Pay the man.   Then draft another guard and a center.   And light a fire under Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown.   Dion is no Joe Thomas.   He gave up a lot of pressures this year.  Had a lot of penalties too.    Ditto Spencer Brown.   Both should be playing better.   Get them tutors, if that is what it will take.

Fix the offensive line, and Josh will be better.   The WRs will be better.   Knox will be better.   In addition, the RBs will be better.

We sign Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips, Daquan Jones and Tim Settle in Free Agency for the Dline,  but we sign Rodger Saffold and Bobby Hart for the Oline.  We draft Greg Rousseau, AJ Epenesa, and Boogie Bashum in rounds 1 and 2, but we draft Jack Anderson in the 7th round?  C'mon man !

I agree we need to draft interior Offensive linemen and we also need to draft a big fast wide receiver with good hands.  However if you look at the snow game it exposed a lot of our teams deficencies.  We will have two very fast smaller RB's as Motor will most likely be gone.

If he is there or he is there 3 rounds before we pick we should use some draft capital to move up to grab him.  Bijorn Robinson is a Barkley type running back.  He can catch out of the back field as well as move the pile with his weight.  If we cannot get Robinson then O'Cyrus the monster guard should be the first pick and then draft Zach Chemxxxx in the second.

Either way we should be drafting RB and Guard with our first two picks.....Robinson should be pick one and O'Cyrus the backup pick.  Unless a blue chip player drops that is a top 10 draft pick other than a QB....we should trade out of the first to pick up an extra second and maybe a 5th to get the best guard or Big Running Back in the second round.   I doubt we are going to find an elite WR like a Jamare Chase or Waddle in the bottom of the first.

However an elite big RB and even a small upgrade on the O line will huge for the Bills

The offensive line, and not just to protect Allen. They need to develop a running game. Offensive lineman from the SEC seem like good picks. Plus, offensive linemen will be there. Just not sure about the Bill's scouting department.

However, even though it's hard to see, McDermott is a defensive guy. And we know what that means.

Draft a WR and trade/sign one in FA.

this would be good to have on the team if he is healthy.  He has been injured the past couple of years but with a good QB he is legit.  He would also need a contract restructuring.  But I don’t see him costing more then a second round pick.
