StraightJ
I agree with both of you. When TWD posted it in the shoutbox(without any comment, IIRC) I returned to something I had said earlier when members started spitting out the name if a condition possibly as they were familiar with it. I really would rather avoid the hatred, and mayyyyybe the Bills are PRONE to EXTREMELY RARE things happening to them, but this is not the first time we've heard a doctor using big words and pretty much declaring themselves as the arbiter of trut(if I recall the video correctly, I think I saw it hours ago in the SB). I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the guy, but think TWD worded it well, something I too find interesting. TWD, your humility surprises me. I TOO looked it up lol. I guess it is kind of the opposite of "recency bias" that I've called out when ppl declare "the run D sucks" after 1.5 bad games when the first .5 was actually time for the D to be expecting Rodgers to pass. When I looked this up, it said people tend to remember things at the beginning of a list better than the end or middle. Unsure if @Woody was referring to 1)the term/diagnosis and/or 2)the youtube account whom the viewer first experiences the BREAKING news from. Wait, does that make @daryls61 "Optimus Primacy" :) Either way, Wood's apparently been holding back in his shtick, which some suspect the Bills have in their game/game plans. I mean that as a sincere compliment, Woody. I enjoyed the humor-centric even before you explained it to my attempting to display humility self. Quote Andy did you hear about this one?-REM . It was short I suppose. Did he say something like "we don't know"..."but what we DO know is it is not this"? Honestly it didn't bug me enough AT THE MOMENT to care too much. I was thinking more about Damar, and at least this guy didn't declare himself science or waste millions of tax dollars on a study to see the effects of sandflies eating live beagle puppies to death like that other doctor. Yes, that was part of the best selling book about someone whose name is not worth my time or acknowledgment at the moment, as are the fake words he tried to inject into the lexicon. I'd think we could feel safe this is NOT predictive programming, being most folks don't get tackled by NFL WR's. Hell, most NFL DB's dont get tackled by WRs.... Flan
A classmate of my daughter died from this. Tyler Kopp, 12, Dies After Being Struck in Chest By Lacrosse Ball in New York - NESN.com They said back then that this is obviously extremely rare and almost impossible to prevent. That can't possibly be true, that story is from 2012 which is before the COVID vaccine was even released!

Thank goodness the NFL has state of the art medical devices and staff on hand(or one would assume such, for the amount of money the now no longer non for profit organization mints). Actually, to wherever else's credit, other young athletes collapsing who were not hit in the chest(or at all) have also been revived from death's door. ICR's antics are just begging for a thread on it, but for now Flan I just want to express gratitude for your contribution, and Damar Hamlin is alive. Extremely rare things do happen. I just wish the ones for the Bills would start being good. 1 Quote Andy did you hear about this one?-REM . "I don't think I'm easy to talk about. I've got a very irregular head. StraightJ
FWIW, (correct me if I am wrong here TWD), neither TWD nor myself have said this has anything to do with what ICR is raging about here. Fact of the matter is, I know at least(unless something changed recently), my observations told me awhile back that the NFL was and would remain curiously absent of such things, and I think TWD may have proclaimed such before my observations. I've repeatedly asked for someone good with statistics I could help examine the numbers with, as I do not want to just declare something like some, but want to cryptically analyze it and come to my own determination. Also, I think TWD was concentrating on how quickly this online diagnosis was made and had a video prepared for and delivered. He used the word "interesting". I can say I find it interesting too. (I could write paragraphs about things that were written in advance of the trigger, but it might detract from the message and not be related to what TWD intended). Dude, come on, the “DR” in the video made it about “the thing that wackadoodle dumbass ICR is raging about”! So blame that guy for pinpointing one thing it’s not, while speculating what it is! Trying to be respectful of Damar Hamlin situation is fine, is great, is decent! Don’t be a pussy though SJ, if this was or wasn’t due to something, doesn’t mean nothing is! Crazy Legs
7 hours ago, thinwhiteduke said: This came out a short time after incident. I find that odd on a few levels. I don't think it is odd. This is obviously a doctor knowledgeable in cardiac events, and recognized immediately what MAY have happened and wanted to share the information. I think it is quite possible this is what may have happened. I appreciate the explanation. (He may teach and have had this explanation in his library/computer) Digging further on Commonito Cordis, if Damar got CPR and Defibrillation quickly, the "internet" says he recovery is optimistic. Praying for the guy.

micknaboz
Grabbed this from the Zone, and I couldn't agree more. About all of it Posted by Paranoid Android at the Zone. "First, I'm not blaming Tee Higgins. Not in the slightest. There's no way he intended what ended up happening to Damar. So let's get that out of the way. On the Hamlin tackle, Higgins lowers his head but instead of avoiding a hard tackle in that manner, he launched into Hamlin. The head may not be lowered in order to use the helmet as a weapon. That is the rule for players on both sides of the LOS. Offensive players lower their head to avoid hard tackles but sometimes they use the head to punish tacklers. Will the NFL now begin enforcing this on offensive players? If they are serious about player safety, I think they should for obvious cases like this one where they are not attempting to avoid contact.
