shiva2999
If I became a philosopher, if I have so keenly sought this fame for which I'm still waiting, it's all been to seduce women basically. Herodotus
Politicians: I met then Governor Bob Holden and I was left bitterly disappointed by how incompetent he was. I met then Governor Sam Brownback about a decade later at a March For Life event in Topeka. Its the only time I have ever checked my pocket to make sure I still had my wallet after shaking hands with someone, he is still the most oily and greasy bastard I have ever encountered. Then Mayor, and now CONgressman for life, Cleaver spoke at my 5th grade DARE graduation. That was fun. Our principal at the time told us that he would sign autographs later, but he never did. To his credit, many years later I was being an ass and I sent him an email that I like politicians who keep their promises, and how I cannot trust people who don't keep their promises and I reminded him of the 5th grade thing. So about 2 weeks later he made good. I got a letter and signed (actually by him, not digital) 8×10 pic of him. I respect that. I really do. Religious: I have met archbishop Michael Jackels, very nice man; Bishop James Conley another nice guy. The priest who confirmed me helped start the Fr. Kapaun Pilgrimage walk and I have met several people who have championed his receipt of the medal of honor, have managed to get his remains home to his native Kansas, and are championing his cause for sainthood. On the more negative, I met bishop Robert Finn, I was very disappointed in how he handled the Sean Ratigan case but I don't think he was trying to cover anything up. His worst sin in the whole thing was trying to me merciful when the priest in question needed to have his teeth kicked in. So nice guy, but not someone who had any business being a bishop especially in a world where wolves very much and intentionally dress up as priests to prey on children. I honestly, feel bad for the guy, but was relieved when he resigned. I also met and Patrick Madrid, a popular apologist in Catholic circles. No lies, the guy is a good apologist in terms of knowing the faith, but he was such a dick so he was the most arrogant person I have ever met. Then there was Buck O'Neil. He was the keynote speaker at my high school graduation. I had the pleasure of shaking his hand. So happy he is now enshrined in Cooperstown. It should have been done in his lifetime. He deserved it. He was not only a great player for the Kansas City Monarchs of Negro Leagues, a pretty good manager and scout for the Cubs, and one of the best ambassadors for Kansas City and the game of Baseball, he was also a great human being. Being black in America in the time he experienced some of America's worst and to still genuinely love everyone he encountered speaks volumes of his character. It was a sad day when he died and a great day when he was finally voted in to Cooperstown. Bonus: Pope Benedict. I didn't meet him per say, but his pope mobile got to within 10 feet of me in Madrid at World Youth Day 2011. That was cool. Later that day, me and some friends accidentally discovered where he was staying. We were walking, I guess in the Diplomatic quarter, when all of a sudden these helicopters start flying overhead and these soldiers just start ninjaing and appearing out from behind every tree, and a line of police start forming up along side the road and we start seeing motorbikes and police cars in convoy. Well it felt tense so we got away from there, but later on we learned just where we were and what was happening and it was pretty cool. HipKat
I’ve met so many famous people that I couldn’t even sit here and list them all. Not just met but also interacted with, hung out with, worked with etc… Quote “There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. HipKat
Since I cannot see the OP, I didn’t know that where there was more to this. The best, Man there’s a lot of them but I would save Joey Belladonna from Anthrax since he and I ended up becoming good friends. The biggest douche bag, I could say Christopher Knight from the Brady Bunch or Gene Simmons but the biggest asshole famous person I ever met was Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead. I worked on two Grateful Dead shows and both times he was a fucking dickhead to the security people and to the production people Quote “There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Popular Post Very Wide Right
In August I met Ted Nugent and spent about a half hour with him one on one before the show, it was interesting talking to him about the business and all of the history he's been through.Ted was very cool, I took some pictures with him and he gave me an autographed promotional picture, a bunch of picks and a couple bumper stickers. His black Byrdland was sitting on a guitar stand 3 feet away the whole time we were talking but I didn't have the balls to ask him to try it.
