Nah, I prefer real strategy games.  One of my favorites its wargaming the war in Europe in World War Two.  Its like axis and allies, a fun game of its own, but I play with maps, thumbtacks (blue for US and UK, red for USSR, and black for Nazis and Italian.  I also game the war in the pacific too.  First person shooters aren't my thing.

Oh and I have gamed what if the US got the go order to Berlin, Glantz was right.  Churchill's Unthinkable does not end like he would have thought, a lot more casualties and Berlin is completely under Soviet control and by 1948 despite nuclear bombs being dropped on Soviet forces, the British and Americans are driven from the continent.

FPS are different than strategy war games ,chess being the first modern war game.

I played Doom 1 and 2, Quake and its offshoots, but the enemy in those were implacable hostile aliens.

In COD and its variants, you can shoot human beings, which is a bigger concern for society than shooting aliens.

Ironically, as soon as I saw that you were the first post I could read, I was going to mention axis and allies. My friends and I used to play that game for hours, switching teams and staying up all night drinking and going at it, head to head. I love that game. I wish I still had it and people still played it.

I think "Return to Castle to Wolfenstein" was the last one I played.  It was pretty good.  :niterider:

W:ET is the multiplayer game that came after RTOC, which I also played for many years
