It would be a lot more convincing if we saw staff all hanging out taking advantage of what Twitter offers. Is it over the top? Yeah but most modern companies offer free coffee, yoga, etc.  Issue is Elon has gone to far on the other end... We will see how this plays out. I am intrigued by how he is going about this. More to come I am sure.

I’ve already given my theory on his plan:

1) Takes the company private so he doesn’t have to release financials (already done)

2) Lays off or encourages the quitting of thousands of workers to lessen payroll (already done).

3) Takes the company through bankruptcy court to offload billions of debt (he has hinted at this).

4) Comes out the other side with a social media company that has billions less in debt, less payroll, the same or similar revenue as advertisers come back on and high profile users pay for perks, and the company is now in the profits.

5) He can enjoy the profits and use Twitter as his personal advertising platform for Tesla, SpaceX, etc, or he can sell it for $100B and double his money.

Part 4 will be payed by us Taxpayers if Twitter goes bankrupt. He has enough money it should be up to him to get Twitter out of this. Not us! I wish him success but not on my dime.

No it’s not.

Google has very cool perks (like chef lunches, daycare, hair salon, etc) but they also have an EXTREMELY competitive work environment.

If you aren’t producing, you’re GONE.

Google’s acceptance rate for hires is 0.2%

Their employees aren’t playing foosball to unwind at 11am or getting a free iced mocha or grabbing some wine and sitting on the roof.

Good job skipping my other post.  I'll repeat: this was this employee's first time in that office.  She doesn't work there.  She works remote.  When she talks about having multiple meetings that day, it's reasonable to assume that those meetings ARE THE REASON she's there.  Which means playing foosball IN BETWEEN THE SCHEDULED MEETINGS is an entirely reasonable decision.

Why would this happen

It’s already happening. When they released the $8 plan thousands were signing up just to fuck with people. They have to fix that but the overall plan will be extra features that users have begged for (editing tweets) and private DM’s and verified check marks.

If they can get half of one percent of their user base to pay $8, then that’s close to a billion per year by itself.

As for advertisers, many never left. You only heard about the big ones like GM - who probably left more so because Musk is a competitor for GM’s hybrid line that anything else.

But yeah, advertisers go where people are. Twitter is now more popular than ever. Twitter just hit an all-time high in usage. Some will wait for the hoopla to die down and then hop back on board.

Unless I'm doing my math wrong, you're catastrophically fucking stupid.

One half of one percent of 400 million users is 2 million.  2 million subs at $8/mo for 1 year is $192M.

Furthermore, that's an insane "if" considering about 100,000 people signed up for Twitter Blue to start with.  That's one half of one percent of the one half of one percent you're saying Musk needs to make TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS A FUCKING YEAR.

I thought they had over a billion users. Whatever.

The point is that whatever money they get from users is gravy.

Twitter has survived this long on advertisers alone and if he takes them to BK (which I think he will), he will offload massive debt. He has already slashed tons of monthly expenses with the firing and severance of employees.

This is where I'm getting my info on how many people use Twitter:

https://thesocialshepherd.com/blog/twitter-statistics#:~:text=Twitter Has 396.5 Million Users Globally&text=In fact%2C Twitter sees about, what others are tweeting about.

I’ve actually said it multiple times. Subscriptions are an additional thing.
Twitter has existed this long with zero subscriptions AND double the payroll they have now.

Pretty sure Twitter has also lost a significant number of high dollar advertisers.

And anyone with a brain knew Musk was going to reinstate Trump, And don't give that bs about it being decided by a vote. If you believe that I have a nice bridge I can sell you cheap.

“Page not available”. I’m not on tiktok, but that’s never been a problem 🤷‍♂️. Without seeing the video I agree with you already, lol.

I just did. The way she talks is annoying enough for me to tell her to keep working from home

Welcome back 45th. Go get em

I missed trolling him but he hasn't posted so I don't think he cares, although being an attention starved narcissist, I'm sure he can't hold out too long

Trump is back, BTW.

I guess Elon was bored...

That was Elons plan all along. It was the motivation for him buying twitter. As soon as it became known Elon was pursuing purchasing Twitter I knew he was going to let Trump back on. They're like two peas in a pod.
