I'm getting a good LOL out of it.  The wokies are coming unglued.  :niterider:

oh honey

no

Elon Musk is driving Twitter, his control of Tesla, and his entire reputation into the ground.  The left has always hated him, and we've always understood he is a narcissistic manchild with a completely unearned overconfidence in his own competency.  We're loving every second of this on that front.

What we have a problem with is the rampant fraud he's allowing on the largest social media platform in the history of existence.  If you believe in anything, surely you believe rampant fraud is bad.  Don't you believe rampant fraud is bad?

Yea he is. He is going to owe 1 billion a year on a platform that only makes 700 million. He borrowed money and pulled money out of tesla stock. He paid over 40 billion for a company maybe worth 10 billion. Everything he touches is over valued. He will bring down twitter, owe investors and banks a lot of money, and tanked tesla stock.

Elon Musk’s revelation that Twitter has suffered a “massive” revenue drop since he took over 10 days ago underscores the precarious nature of the social media company’s finances after he saddled it with $13 billion in debt, credit experts say.

Musk tweeted on Friday that Twitter was losing more than $4 million a day, largely because advertisers started fleeing once he took over.

Banks that committed to help finance Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter Inc. plan to hold all $13 billion of debt backing the deal rather than sell it, according to people familiar with the matter, in another blow to a market that serves as a crucial source of corporate funding.

The banks decided to park the debt on their balance sheets to avoid selling it at a loss to bond and loan fund managers, who have grown increasingly skittish amid rising market turmoil, the people said.

Banks would likely face losses of around $500 million or more if they tried to sell Twitter’s debt at current market prices, The Wall Street Journal previously reported. If all the banks hold the debt instead, they can mark it at a higher value on their books on the premise that prices will eventually rebound.

or maybe they just say fuggit and go BK!

Twitter Inc. suffered additional senior executive departures as owner Elon Musk said bankruptcy is a possibility for the company, adding to the chaos that has engulfed the social media platform in the two weeks since the billionaire took it over.

Mr. Musk’s bankruptcy comment came in an all-hands meeting with Twitter’s staff on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter, on the heels of a memo to employees in which he warned of the “dire” economic challenges facing the company. During the meeting, Mr. Musk also spoke about ending remote work for most Twitter employees, saying they needed to come to the office if able, the people said. He also gave the first public explanation for his recent sale of Tesla Inc. shares, saying he did it to help Twitter, one of the people said.

Im no Elon fan boy, but this is a stupid talking point with no semblance of fact.

None of the Musk family members seem to know where it even came from.

Elon: "This is a pretty awful lie. I left South Africa by myself when I was 17 with just a backpack & suitcase of books. Worked on my Mom’s cousin’s farm in Saskatchewan & a lumber mill in Vancouver. Went to Queens University with scholarship & debt, then same to UPenn/Wharton & Stanford. (My dad) didn’t own an emerald mine & I worked my way through college, ending up ~$100k in student debt.”

His Mom: "To add to the truth, we went to Boston Chicken in Philadelphia for Thanksgiving because we couldn’t afford a turkey. And we spent three weeks making our rent-controlled apartment livable in Toronto,”

The emerald mine is a completely made-up story that people keep passing along because no-one is interested in researching the truth.

You can call Elon a lot of things, but he isn't stupid.

Not many people can start numerous billion dollar companies.

I think thats his plan all along...

Offload tons of debt, re-organize, take it public again making boatloads of money off re-invoragated shares with a smaller debt load, profit.

If the banks went along with that deal without a guarantee of repayment, and the current secondary market pricing for the debt seems to confirm that, they deserve to lose every penny that they do.  DSC was below one on day one so its amazing they agreed to it at all.

Tale as old as time.

People like to joke that Elon is dumb. He's not. He has THREE billion dollar companies under his belt. Its actually insanely impressive.

How interesting, the very libs that mindlessly call conservatives fascists can't stand to see alternative views and are upset that they can't silence others.

No one is saying a mine doesnt exist, we are saying his family didn't get rich off of it (that's, ya know, the story) and his success has nothing to do with his success. For fuck sake, the family has spoken about this, and he doesnt even talk to his father

Owning 4% of a shitty mine that ends up with you needing rent controlled housing and hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt is nothing to mention.
