Gahdammnit, Russian Secret Police Cracking Down on Press Freedom. . . .

DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous, an investigation by The Intercept has found. Years of internal DHS memos, emails, and documents — obtained via leaks and an ongoing lawsuit, as well as public documents — illustrate an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms.

The work, much of which remains unknown to the American public, came into clearer view earlier this year when DHS announced a new “Disinformation Governance Board”: a panel designed to police misinformation (false information spread unintentionally), disinformation (false information spread intentionally), and malinformation (factual information shared, typically out of context, with harmful intent) that allegedly threatens U.S. interests. While the board was widely ridiculed, immediately scaled back, and then shut down within a few months, other initiatives are underway as DHS pivots to monitoring social media now that its original mandate — the war on terror — has been wound down.

Behind closed doors, and through pressure on private platforms, the U.S. government has used its power to try to shape online discourse. According to meeting minutes and other records appended to a lawsuit filed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican who is also running for Senate, discussions have ranged from the scale and scope of government intervention in online discourse to the mechanics of streamlining takedown requests for false or intentionally misleading information.

Oh wait, never mind its actually our  government.  Although I am sure its all good, they would never disappear a prominent journalist and if we crackdown on those whose stories, opeds, and articles question the narrative its because they are spreading "misinformation."  I am sure the government would never accidentally on purpose punish a journalist for questioning say a 100 billion dollar arms and cash transfer to oligarchs.  I am sure that the government would never silence those who disagreed with the official narrative on economic, foreign or defense policy.  I know I am a baddy and should be silenced for intentionally spreading  "misinformation" and you are okay because after all you have never spread misinformation.  Actually, its for the best that the government gets to decide what is and is not permissable speech and press.

Ummmm... no.

You're an imbecile for even adding Pelosi's husband as  a conspiracy theory. The conspiracy is how stupid Republicans can come up with the absolute bullshit they do.

Yeah, until the truth comes out and it’s no longer “conspiracy”! I’m not a “Republican” but the timing of this event and some of the conflicting info seem to insinuate this is not as open and shut as they’re telling the public!!

Well in the Pelosi case, the truth is coming out. And none of it lines up with the absolute nonsense that Republicans have been spreading since it happened. Absolutely zero!

It is absolutely open and shut, AND the fucking guy admitted to everything. But I’m quite sure the Republicans will say there’s some conspiracy involved with his confessions and that he was coerced into it or that he’s part of the deep state or that he’s really an antifa plant or some other dumb shit like that.

The only conflicting info are the lies that the Republicans are spreading. Just like with everything.

And I’m sorry my man, you say you’re not a Republican but show me one time that you haven’t toed the line with the Republicans or one time that you have with the Democrats.

It has NOTHING to do with being and R or D, it has to do with NOT trusting a lifetime POS politician (N. Pelosi) and all the negative publicity they have been the subject of over the past few years.  You think a little too much in the “R vs. D” realm, I don’t do that.

Since he supposedly “admitted” it, that’s good enough for you?

Joe Biden literally admitted he/they had “put together the greatest voter fraud network ever”, that wasn’t good enough for you?

Interesting...👍🍻
