'RISK OF CRASH OR INJURY': Large recalls on Mercedes, Ford, Nissan, Volkswagen, Tesla and other vehicles trigger warnings from Transport Canada to drivers

A series of Transport Canada recalls involving popular vehicles across the country have been announced due to risks of crash, fires and other hazards.

Transport Canada is recalling the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter from 2019-22 because, in certain conditions, the vehicle could roll-away after placing the transmission in the "P" (Park) position if the parking brake is not set.

"You should always follow the parking procedure in the owner's manual, and set the parking brake each time that you park," Transport Canada said in its warning. "A parked vehicle that rolls away could create a risk of a crash or an injury."

Mercedes-Benz will notify owners by mail, Transport Canada said. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Once a recall repair is available, Mercedes-Benz will send you a second notice and advise drivers to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the electronic stability program (ESP) control unit.....

I note there was no mention of any recalls on electric SmartCars.  Oh well.

Nor Chevy Camaro.   The one, true Environmental 'Green' Machine (mine is fire engine red; FanBack does not drive non-red cars).  It runs off of Naturally- Produced Abiotic Geologic Fuels.

After all, I didn't spend decades valiantly fighting for the environment to be the end point of a toxic lithium battery chain.   But some people; they will trash an ecosystem to save a few bucks on gas.

In that YouTube photo, it appears the vehicle is attached to the steel stage in front of the rear tires and and behind the front tires by an uber strong German designed metal bar attachment.

Is that do the car does not roll away as the recall mentions?

That one I noticed is not secured to the floor like the previous.

Is this one safe or will it roll away?

Your guess is as good as mine.

So far it's been a good boy.

First drive: 2010 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe

Publishing date:

Nov 26, 2009  •  November 13, 2020

Normally inured to the flowery marketing bumph that comes with the presentation of any new vehicle, I was nonetheless intrigued by Mercedes-Benz’s description of its E-Class Coupe as “a very special combination of emotion and performance.”

Strangely, only a few minutes after taking the keys and hopping behind the wheel of an extremely clean and shiny E350 Coupe, I was overwhelmed by a feeling of serenity the likes of which I haven’t experienced in any new vehicle in a long time. Anticipation and desire, yes, or even the occasional antipathy. Serenity, no. Even more uncharacteristically, said serenity didn’t disappear as I became more familiar with the car. After a while, I just sat back and enjoyed the ride, chalking up the Coupe as one of those extremely rare cars that can trigger such positive vibes.

There’s nothing inherently magical about the E350. It is composed of metal, plastic, glass and rubber, the same as every other passenger vehicle on the face of the planet. But the sum of its parts somehow adds up to a greater whole.

So for these "roll away when in park" MBs, do the 4 huge metal attachments to secure behind the MB's wheels to the pavement or other secure surface come standard with the car along with a commercial grade heavy duty drill?

Will all that fit in the trunk?

If so, where do you put other things that you would normally put in a trunk like groceries, golf clubs or dead bodies?

The "rollers" are only sold to Jews and the other Untermenschen.

My car was made IN GERMANY for the master race.
