I employ over 100 people without a college education, and they typically earn 80K a year and more. A high school buddy of mine works for Home depot, he started out as a cart collector and now is a store manager earning 150K a year with bonuses, he has a HS education and nothing more. STOP whining and start working hard and good things will happen.

Yes.  Congratulations.  The fact that you and VWR have found success does prove that LITERALLY ANYBODY can succeed under the right circumstances. 

That does not change the fact that under our current system it is incontrovertibly IMPOSSIBLE for everybody to succeed.  As such, our system requires a social safety net for those who do not.  If you genuinely believe every human being has an innate right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness then you must acknowledge that the only way our government can promise those rights is if it works tirelessly to lift people out of the cracks they've fallen through.  

But of course, there's the rub: neither of you believe every human being has an innate right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  At best, you believe each human being has a conditional right to life, liberty, and/or the pursuit of happiness. 

I would be open to arguments that this is a more semantically correct standard to hold a government to, but I think it's legitimately impossible for you to convince me that a government that crafts policy based on your conditions would maximize our countrymen's free exercise of those rights.  That's a big deal to me.  I think it's morally good to maximize human happiness, and I don't think your standards are accommodating enough to do so.

There is a middle-aged woman that works at my local KFC.She for whatever reason has little to no control over the left side of her upper body and she walks with a limp. It is obviously difficult for her to operate the register and deliver trays of orders yet she has been doing it for years. When no customers are at the register, she takes it upon herself to clean tables and sweep the floor in the dining room. The teenagers in the back are yelling stupid crap to each other and little else. People like her are the very people that make this country exceptional and give hope by setting such a strong example. You continue to be a whining little excuse making bitch.
