Prediction: Trump will not run in 2024 and DeSantis will guarantee Trump a pardon if he wins.

Ok, instead of black and white, let's deal in shades of gray. Which would be worse for the American people, a riot in which property is damaged and people are killed, OR attempting to overthrow the US goverment?

Depends in this case number of deaths and damage is worse. Also no chance of government takeover in this case.

None that I can think of. It’s illegal

Lots of things are illegal that shouldn't be.  There are towns all over the country that have weird laws, like "you can't put a turkey in your bathtub on Sundays after 6pm" or shit like that.  Does that mean that it's morally wrong to put a turkey in your bathtub on Sundays after 6pm in one town, but if you travel 50 miles west it suddenly becomes a morally sanctioned act?

LOL. Good luck. The peeps you are arguing with have their own made up language and  pronouns.

So if you were to convict someone of property damage and someone else for a failed attempt at the overthrow of the US government, you're charging them the same? Or does one come with a harsher punishment?

I could see that happening.  Honestly, I have some bad news for those wanting a 2016 redux.  Trump and Hillary both appear to want to run again, but neither party is probably going to allow it.  Wait, there's more.  I don't see Trump even needing a pardon.  The rich in this country play by their own rules and Trump probably doesn't even see the inside of a court room let alone the inside of a jail.  His associates probably do, but he probably won't.  I think he plays king maker to DeSatan and we get yet another garbage election in 2024 where no matter who gets the presidency we all still lose.

Violent protests seems like a legit crime to me. A little worse than a Turkey on a tub

They are both riots. It’s the same thing except this one happened to be “Republicans” so your side is blowing it up. I said both were wrong but because I think one is worse than the other I’m an asshole, got it. As far as loss of life, loss of property, loss of income, and injury they don’t even compare. Portland Oregon is still fucked beyond recognition. There’s businesses there that will never come back.

I’m sorry, I know I’m getting older but I cannot seem to recall the post where I called you an asshole so maybe you can link it?

My uncle is almost 90 years old. He still wakes up screaming in the middle of the night after serving in the Korean War almost 70 years ago.

Sorry to hear that

Fighting against an abusive government is different than rioting. There is never a good reason to kill or beat an innocent person walking down the street or set fire to your neighbors business. That doesn’t effect the government at all.

So maybe they should’ve checked the government instead?

If that’s who they are going after. Honestly I thought that this is where it was going. If you’re going to go after anyone shouldn’t it be the ones that beating you down? I don’t suggest you burn down a police dept but why the local bakery instead? Because they’re not going to come out shooting?

@HipKatDo you see this? These 2 actually believe that the BLM riots were warranted.

That's where I differ from them. The BLM riots were a race-influenced political movement using criminals who died in confrontations with police officers

BTW, a revolt is an organized uprising against an entity in power. A riot is an unorganized, typically violent gathering that could be inspired by multiple influences
