I think he is saying that it’s the same thing, but what they said was worse. I don’t think it’s changing the subject if it’s the same damn thing.

The problem is this is what the right does every time on every subject in every medium.  I watch A TON of debates and panel discussions on YouTube and Twitch.  There's a REALLY consistent pattern where the conservatives pull the same gameplan: never, ever, ever defend the thing someone else says is bad.  Instead, use deflection and whataboutism to impugn their right to call it bad in the first place.

It's pure cowardice.  They know that what we're asking them to defend is indefensible (or, at the very least, that they're not smart enough to muster a compelling defense themselves) so they refuse to stay on topic.  Hip is doing the right thing by demanding that they focus on the one thing and explain why they believe it's wrong to find it objectionable instead of pivoting to why it would be right to find something ELSE objectionable.

Spot on! And the thing is that they either know they’re doing it or they’ve been programmed to do it at such a depth that they aren’t capable of realizing it

“There he goes. One of God's own prototypes.

A high-powered mutant of some kind, never even considered for mass production.

Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”
