Ok then, we're very good at not rushing the passer, rarely blitz, lbs chase people down from behind and have slow corners. Just a few bad plays a game against good teams leaves us vulnerable.

The homers on this board think that this Elam bum is going to get better.  What a joke!  It is common knowledge that guys like this just do not get better with more experience - they actually get worse!  As Elam gets burned play after play, his confidence will continue to decline to the point that he will be afraid to do anything - just stand in one place and be semi-comatose.  The official excuse is that they are trying to get him acclimated to zone coverage instead of press man.  Give me a break!  If a cornerback can't do something as simple as that, then he should be cut immediately.

This guy is Aaron Maybin 2.0, except that Maybin could actually lead a cheer coming out of the locker room.

Maybe we can convert him to a kick returner - that seems to be the only productive option for him.  Or maybe some idiot GM will give us a 7th rounder for him.  It looks like a bargain at this point.

I see that this thread has made the rounds to OTHER Bills boards. Look all I can tell you is this was legit. During cocktail hour. Early. Dude was not drunk that said this about Elam. And no it’s not Thad Brown. Also consider the fact that national media has also mentioned he’s struggled during camp. It’s early sure… but reports haven’t been encouraging. Sounds like he’s a project. 
 

If you wanna pretend corner isn’t a major issue, don’t be pissed when every game the Bills need to drop 30 to win. Rams WRs are gonna eat our corners alive.

Nah…they will keep blowing their first round wad until they eventually sign a vet in FA. Just like DE. 
 

They only care about premium assets on defense. They have patchworked the offense and to their credit, have come away with results. Imagine if Allen had first rounders used on the line or for weapons?

They piggy backed off one reporter who obviously doesnt know that it's expected for rookies to struggle early on against all pros when learning new defenses and new techniques 🙄. This isn't the whole national medias opinion, it was one person.

This current GM and Coach seem to be very good at judging talent for the secondary.  If they think Elam is good or will be good, I give them the benefit of the doubt.  Also factor in that the QB can't be hit, and WR's are not getting jammed much either.  Also take into account the Diggs is perhaps the most elusive/best route runner in the NFL.  If he can cover Diggs he can cover just about anyone.   Always give a new player 3 years before you pass judgement.  As for the 6th round corner, small school....roll of the dice but could be a diamond in the rough!

It’s this archaic thinking that will prevent us from ever winning the big one. I like Von Miller. But wouldn’t you rather spent that money on a weapon for Josh Allen? When it comes to defensive schemes and philosophy…the opposing offense will always find a way to counter and defeat it. At least a good offense. I fear the good offenses we will face will simply neutralize Von. 
 

I mean think of it….the handful of times we played Von Miller…did he do anything against us? Did he fucking wreck our offense? Nope.
