For the 627th time…for all the fuckers in the back…I’ve said for years…our best players on defense…with the exception of Tre White…have been free agent pick ups(Hyde, Miller, Poyer) trades(Jerry Hughes)and low round draft picks(Milano, Taron Johnson). I believe the system makes average players good to great. Stop fucking blowing first rounders…even fucking second rounders…on defense. Oliver is on the verge of joining White so we’ll see. 1st rounders should always be used to help your franchise qb. 5 years with Allen now and not a single first round pick made to help him. Lord fuck a duck! 
 

I agree. The success McD has had with mid to late rounders on defense is staggering. I’m still pissed we took Elam. Part of me hopes benford is the real deal.

There have been very good reviews of Benford so far but its pre season so i take it with a grain of salt and alot of hope....going back to some of the earlier conversations in this thread regarding again the infamous 13 seconds bullshit....Frazier should of been fucking canned the next day....no excuses!

Start dusting off a spot in the Football Hall of Fame for this kid.  He is already playing at an all-star level.  He may even end up as the Defensive Player of the Year.

Why do we keep wasting high-round draft picks for secondary help when there are dozens of elite corners available as late rounders or un-drafted free agents? 

It just makes no sense.

Exactly. By then McD will have a hard on for some new “stud” LB or DT in the first round. I view him as a petulant child crying to Beane before every draft to take defense first. The results speak for themselves.

As long as we have a defensive minded head coach….this will always be the case. Diggs probably has a couple elite seasons left. Are we giving Davis a second contract? Probably not considering the cap. Then what? Shakir and…..I’d would have loved a stud WR drafted when Allen was drafted…and or the following year. But they dicked around.

It really isn't that difficult to determine whether a post belongs in the Buffalo Bills forum or the Political forum. Take some time and brush up on that, unless these things don't apply to you if you believe your postings are extra special. If it hadn't have been Elam, it would have somebody else on the defensive side. They had a list of names on the defensive side, and as those names were selected they crossed them off until they got to Elam. As a fan, I hope they work out.

Elam is a rookie and people are jumping all over every mistake or misstep he takes.  Give it time, he should develop into a great CB...just need to give him reps and let him build his confidence.  As for drafting, I think CB was the right call given White's injury and not resigning Levi.
