Herodotus
32 minutes ago, HipKat said: Let me throw mine into the mix, but first, this is a terrible time of year for these pics. Most of this stuff blooms in early summer and some of it, like the Spider plants (I think they are) are drying out before fall gets here. Also, there are three things that are problematic here; Mulberry Trees, Creeping Charlie and Poison Ivy. The Creeping Charlie was out of control when I bought the house and that's just not at the top of things to address here. I've cleaned out a lot of the garden beds, since the previous owners just let things grow out of control and my neighbors to the rear obviously give no fucks about the shit that's growing over and through my fence. And, this is the dry season where it almost never rains so yeah, I know my Hostas, etc look thirsty and finally, tree pruning is never ending. I've got to get caught up on the Lilacs along the side BIG time (Now that I see this picture, probably today), and where the AC is, I call "just let it grow wild" lol Every thing is trial and error. I never had this level of landscaping before. Nice yard, I'd trim that hedge right by your house in that second pic, but other than that nice yard. Also, I know the pain of poison ivy. When I bought my house, the fence that separates my property from the vacant lot next door was literally covered with the awful combo of wild grape, bush honey suckle, green briar and poison ivy. There was also some much abused crab apples, red buds, and hibiscus and lillies that birds and squirrels and other animals pooped in the seeds for. So part of my work for the past two years has been to hack down and dig up the noxious weeds and save the things like the hibiscus, crab apples, and red buds. They've actually been pruned out twice this year, but they grow like mad! Since my neighbor obviously doesn't care, I'm gonna reach over spray his side of the fence in fall and again in Spring to kill off that crap 1 Quote “There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. It looks like you've made some great progress judging from your pictures. Have you ever considered a pump sprayer and a large container of vegetation killer? SpikedLemonade
Rain finally started a few hours ago. If we get even half the rain that is in the forecast this week, my place will be lush and the veggies, flowers and lawn will all explode in colours. This drought has been a bitch. 2 Quote Do Your Part to Improve The Range -- Please put the TRIO OF TRUMP FLUFFERSTM on IGNORE
