This is why the Russians are Fucked

Software engineer with no military experience volunteered for the war, stole a Russian tank, taught himself to drive it, and has 3 Russian tank kills and a number of armored vehicle kills with it already.

22 year old woman who just graduated college is now driving recon crews around on the front lines. Says what pisses her off most is women and children being raped, but she's more afraid of not being useful to her country than being raped herself.

Russia just can't compete with that. The longer the war goes on, the more experienced soldiers they lose, and they have to plug those holes with barely willing conscripts. Meanwhile, these Ukrainian volunteers are getting training passed on to them from professional soldiers that the west trained, and gaining experience by the day. They're pissed off, and motivated, and eager to get into the fight.

There are already signs of the tide turning around Kharkiv. A Ukrainian counter-attack is pushing the Russians to the east and back toward the border in the north. Russians are having to divert forces from their already stalled push at Izyum back to defend their threatened supply lines.

One of the deciding factors is that the M777 artillery and M270 MRLS we've given them out-range the Russian artillery on top of being faster targeting and more accurate, so the Russians are slowly starting to lose the artillery war. As more of this modern western hardware arrives at the front, the Ukrainians are shaping for a general counter-offensive maybe a month from now.

The wildcard is Russia's "escalate to de-escalate" doctrine. If an outright defeat starts looking more and more likely, will Putin use battlefield Nukes to try to "freeze" the conflict and force Ukraine into negotiations? If he takes that step, what will we do?

One thing that we could do to try to deter that from happening is make explicit what the consequences would be of him taking that action. A response that would be proportionate, but that would inflict serious pain that would outweigh any benefit of his action.

"Battlefield nukes"?  Once again you speak flippantly and casually about nuclear weapons and a possible escalation that could potentially destroy civilization as we know it as if nuclear weapons were just some bigger guns that could be wheeled in.

You certainly are a lot tougher and bolder than I am.  Let's hope you're right that a limited exchange of a few nuclear weapons or even an escalation to an all-out nuclear war won't result in too much damage or loss of life, because, I guess, standing up to Russia and bloodying their nose is worth risking everything. If it comes to a nuclear exchange, maybe it'll just be some farmer's outhouse that will get knocked over and a couple of his hens killed.  That'll be unfortunate for Farmer Brown, but the world will move on.

Oh great a hero of the smiley face first class.  He'll be given an order of Bagdad Bob with a side of fries next.  Tell me, can Ukraine do anything wrong in your eyes? I ask that of all my prey.  I used to ask them if they danced with the devil in the pale moon light but then Burton stole that one and now I am told it's a Ukrainian invention.

Is there any greater poker face in human history than Putin’s nukes?

This article sounds about as realistic as this movie.
