foster
Should pregnant women be allowed to work? If the belief that life starts at conception becomes the law of the land then that is where rights for the conceived unborn would kick in? A pregnant woman going to work would technically violating child labor laws. A pregnant woman would not be allowed to be in a bar or drink alcohol due to the minor onboard. Sounds silly but who doesn’t think in this environment this isn’t where we’re headed? With the watchdog laws getting implemented, where neighbors will be spying and investigating neighbors, what’s next on the list? Laws that pay a $10k bounty for someone tattling on a gun owner for having a beer while hunting? For crossing a state line to buy liquor? Be careful what you wish for.

Contraception is preventing unwanted life. Are you against contraceptive methods?

Could you explain what type of work that unborn baby is doing? Is the unborn baby writing reports, taking meetings so on? Could you explain which labor laws are being violated? Pregnant woman should not consume alcohol is a well known fact and if the mother does recreational drugs and it is detected she loses custody of that baby
SpikedLemonade
38 minutes ago, foster said: Or could it be a bit of both. Is there a particular teaching in the Bible that spells out being against contraception or abortion or is this just a fallback to the God’s Will interpretation of the situation? I’m not sure why the church should interpret gods will differently for each gender. If impotence is ‘God’s Will’, why shouldn’t the church be against drugs such as Viagra? I am not sure you are being serious for me to attempt to explain the teachings of the Catholic Church from the Jesuit perspective I was educated in. If you are, please let me know and I will give it my best shot. One of my best friends is a SVD Catholic priest in Tortola and yesterday a buddy with a Masters in Theology and who once was in the Jesuit Seminary to become a Catholic priest came by for a few Red Stripes, my wife's Curried Oxtail and Lamb Necks and a game of Extreme Croquet on the property. The Old Testament NEVER treated men and women the same. Women were always important (Eve was created from one of Adam's ribs) however subservient to men. The New Testament was more progressive and enlightened. Jesus, after all, was clearly a Marxist. His positive and inclusive treatment of the prostitute Mary is an example of a much more favourable treatment of women. There really is NO direct discussion in either about contraception NOR abortion. The interpretation against abortion came from the general sanctity of life. Viagra has nothing to do with conception. Damnation, the bolded portion exposes this poster as a moron. The question is what will be higher: Deaths from Joe Biden's Coronavirus or Abortions? Baldat28
I am 1000% against late term abortion, it's the dumbest thing and I wouldn't want to meet the DR that would do it. I'm iffy on abortion within the first few weeks. I guess it depends on the situation, if a woman was raped for example then I don't have a problem with it, her health being at risk is another one I'm okay with. I'm against it if they had unprotected sex and all the sudden decide they don't want a kid, well then don't have unprotected sex, even with a condom or the pill, it's not 100%, so if you don't want kids, don't have intercourse, take it in the ass....
