For the missing pieces. Do what the Rams did. They’re in the Super Bowl now.

What rookie are we picking at 29 or whatever is going to put us past the chiefs and put us in the Super Bowl?

I’ll even be fine with trading a pick for a proven stud on defense!

We are just kicking the can down the road if we think throwing rookies on the defensive line is going to get us a Super Bowl before Allen’s cap hit.

Need a best athlete in any category will do. Success ful ones.

Ummm NO!  Trading away your draft picks for veteran players is insane due to the salary cap.  In a rare instance once every 4 or 5 years you can do a Diggs type trade because you are under the cap and your QB is on rookie deal.

When you are a winning team picking in the 20's you have to be good and draft extremely well.  You can get excellent talent in the first 3 rounds.  Luckily, the Bills needs match up pretty much where they are picking.  CB2, WR2, RB1 all can be found at the bottom of the first round.  Run Stuffing NT can be found in the 3rd round as well.

Why trade picks when we can sign free agents and still draft players who will be cap friendly for the next 4 years?

Players want to play in Buffalo for a change and will agree to deals that won't tie up the little cap space that we have.

I thought this would happen last year…and it didn’t. I don’t count guys like Emmanuel Sanders or Efe Obada as difference makers. Greg Olsen and JJ Watt passed us over for lesser teams (not that I think they would have made a big difference) At the end of the day Buffalo is still Buffalo and these guys have families. It sucks but we either have to over pay or hit the draft. I don’t see big name guys taking pay cuts to play with the Bills.

There was talk of trading for Julio Jones last off season. What a mess that would have been. Sanders had more of an impact on the Bills than he did on the Titans.

I don't think the Bills need immediate impact stars that will cost an arm and a leg. I would rather plug the holes with solid vets and not ruin our cap future.

Greg Olsen

Ex-Seahawk Admits to Having ‘Buyer’s Remorse’ for Signing With Seattle

Greg Olsen recently retired from the NFL and the tight end made a surprising statement about having “buyer’s remorse” for signing with the Seattle Seahawks last offseason. During an interview on Fox Sports’ The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Olsen opened up on his 2020 free agency decision between joining the Seahawks or Bills. Cowherd admitted that he may have steered Olsen in the wrong direction towards the Seahawks given the Bills made the AFC Championship.

“I’m glad I still went to Seattle,” Olsen explained. “It was a good experience. I was happy for Buffalo. I had a lot of friends there. I had a lot of people there, but I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t having a little bit of buyer’s remorse, you know.”

Meh…if your cool with just falling short of the super bowl year in and year out cool…that’s all “solid vets” will get us.

The Things that unite us are far greater than the things that divide us.

I can fucking advocate for both motherfucker. I don’t care how the fuck the Bills get better….as long as they do….but drafting more defensive lineman is the furthest from that objective. My preference:

1. Using picks to acquire proven talent. Either side of the ball. Don’t care.

2. Draft playmakers/oline help for the offense

end of fucking list

With regards to need, you draft the best player available!!!  If there is a DT like Watt or DE like Myles Garrett available to the bills at pick 25 you take him.  You can always trade Epeneza or other DE to recoup a pick for next years draft.  Unless you find a Guard like Indy's you develop fat interior linemen from rounds 3 to 7.

Draft is always a crap shoot and the Scouts rank players based on multiple stats and measurables.  That is why the NFL teams use a big board.

Trading draft picks for players equates to a short term run.  You build a dynasty (much like NE had through the draft).  Trading guys like Star and getting something for him is the way to get better.  With salary cap and rookie contracts you really have to do well drafting!

You're joking right?

Star has not trade value whatsoever.

No one will give us even a 7th round pick 4 drafts out for him.

This is what I call “kicking the can down the road” approach. I’m done “building for the future”. The future is now. The window to a Lombardi is now. Unless you’re fine with hoping these guys we are drafting this year and next year turn into stars in 4-5 years. I remember we hoped for that in 2003…and then again in 2007…and again in 2011…and with every new regime change and qb change. More of the same. We cant guarantee shit. Gotta strike when the iron is hot.

Agree. Now is the time. We need to get even more dangerous on offense and meaner on defense
