First it was cops. Then Nurses. Then Firefighters, now truckers.

The leftist libs  are obviously attempting to cancel people who help and serve the community .

The more chaos, the happier the left are. No peace and order. No healthcare providers. No food and supplies .

The left libs  want the people to depend on government. They wont stop until we become Cuba and Venezuela.

“Lower your standards” I think was the Psaki term not that long ago of the situation at that point (and obviously the situations to come)!

They tell you that it’s about “public safety” and you and yours absolutely matter to them, then they go and cut off all of your supplies! Kind of implies that none of us actually do mattter to them!!!👎

‘Freedom Convoy’ leader says he just wants to go home after spending night in jail

My organizing days are over,’ Chris Barber said Friday, when he was granted bail.

“Freedom Convoy” leader Chris Barber says his “organizing days are over” and he just wants to go home to his farm in Swift Current, Sask., after being arrested and jailed on charges of mischief and obstruct police.

Barber, 46, spent a night in the notorious Ottawa police cell block and was granted bail Friday night on conditions that he leave town within 24 hours and go home and never support the protest again.

Barber, who owns a trucking company, agreed with the bail conditions that he can no longer support the protest verbally, on TV or online. Barber, who employs four other truck drivers, put up a $100,000 bond to secure his bail.

His conditions require him to live at home until his case winds through the criminal justice system.

While he’s forbidden from supporting the protest, he’s allowed to cover the cost of fuel for other truckers to travel back west with him. He made the offer after hearing that crowd-funding money didn’t get into the hands of fellow truckers.

Barber’s trucking company does business in the Prairies and into the United States.

Barber is charged with mischief, counselling to commit the offence of disobey court order and counselling to commit the offence of obstruct police....

What a great, succinct, professional way to elucidate an argument.

I hope our resident Canadian Tory takes this to heart and betters himself.

Ottawa convoy protest organizer Tamara Lich denied bail

Judge was not convinced she would go home and follow conditions

Tamara Lich, a major organizer of the so-called Freedom Convoy, was denied bail Tuesday morning in Ottawa.

Lich, the Alberta woman behind a now-halted GoFundMe campaign that raised over $10 million to support the protest in Ottawa, was arrested and charged Thursday with counselling to commit mischief.

Before her arrest, she told journalists she wasn't concerned about being arrested, didn't think the protest was illegal and also said her bank account was frozen.

On Tuesday, the judge said she was not convinced Lich would go home, stay there and stop her alleged counselling.

"This community has already been impacted enough by some of the criminal activity and blockades you took part in and even led," said Justice Julie Bourgeois.

"You have had plenty of opportunity to remove yourself and even others from this criminal activity but obstinately chose not to and persistently counselled others not to either.

"In Canada, every citizen can certainly disagree with and protest against government decisions but it needs to be done in a democratic fashion in abidance with the laws that have been established democratically."...

The Pentagon has approved the deployment of 700 unarmed National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., as it prepares for convoys that are planning protests against pandemic restrictions beginning next week.

Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin approved the request Tuesday from the District of Columbia government and the U.S. Capitol Police, the Pentagon said in a statement Tuesday night.

The troops would be used to assist with traffic control during demonstrations expected in the city in the coming days, the Pentagon said. Four hundred Guard members from the District of Columbia Guard will be joined by 300 Guard members from other states, according to the statement.

Guard members will not carry firearms or take part in law enforcement or domestic-surveillance activities, the Pentagon said....

'Freedom Convoy' leader Pat King denied bail, remains in jail

King remains in jail due to 'likelihood' to reoffend and justice's dissatisfaction with surety

Leader of the so-called Freedom Convoy Pat King has been denied bail because of a "substantial likelihood" he would reoffend, according to Justice of the Peace Andrew Seymour.

King, an Alberta resident who helped lead the three-week occupation in Ottawa, was arrested last Friday and faces charges of mischief, counselling to commit mischief, counselling to disobey a court order, and counselling to obstruct police. He broadcast his arrest in a livestream, which was viewed by thousands of people on social media.

Seymour referenced King's comments on other videos posted online about continuing to protest, plus his "history of criminality" as reasons for denying bail.

"I am satisfied there is a substantial likelihood Mr. King would continue committing offences similar to what he is accused of, should he be released," Seymour said in his decision.

Seymour also cited videos shared by the Crown as evidence and said it is an "overwhelming case."

"There is significant evidence linking Mr. King to the organization of the occupation, participation in the occupation, and directing others via his social media videos to commit the alleged offences," Seymour said, noting the Crown's intention to seek a lengthy imprisonment....

The convoy and the questions: How a protest paralyzed a capital

The Fifth Estate will show how months of planning, some secretive but much of it in the open, drew convoys to Canada’s capital, leading to an unprecedented weeks-long occupation of part of Ottawa.

Tamara Lich, co-organizer of Ottawa protests, released on bail to await trial

One of the most prominent leaders of the so-called “Freedom Convoy,” was released on bail Monday after spending 18 days in custody.

OTTAWA—Tamara Lich, one of the most prominent leaders of the so-called “Freedom Convoy,” was released on bail Monday after spending 18 days behind bars on charges linked with this winter’s protests against COVID-19 health measures that occupied the streets around Parliament Hill.

Superior Court Justice John Johnston ruled that Lich should be released from custody, in part because it’s not clear she would face a lengthy prison sentence if convicted of the charges she faces.

The decision reversed an earlier court order that denied Lich bail on the grounds that she was likely to break the law if released, and that granting her bail would damage the reputation of the criminal justice system.

Johnston, who oversaw a review of that decision, disagreed on both fronts.

He noted that, while the impact of the occupation Lich is alleged to have helped lead are serious, there are no allegations against the 49-year-old Alberta woman that relate to graver offences like violence, firearms or drug trafficking.

Johnston concluded that, if convicted, Lich would not likely be jailed for more than two years — a key factor he said judges must consider when determining whether releasing someone accused of crimes could impact the justice system’s reputation.

Lich, who was arrested on Feb. 17, is charged with mischief and counselling to commit mischief.

“I do not mean to suggest the circumstances of what occurred over three weeks in downtown Ottawa was not serious, because it was,” Johnston said Monday.
