According to Guinness World Records, the longest truck convoy ever recorded was 7.5 km long, in Egypt in 2020.

The Freedom Convoy heading from British Columbia to Ottawa is said to be considerably longer.

“It’s 70 km long,” said Benjamin Dichter, spokesman for the Freedom Convoy 2022. “I have seen footage from an airplane. It’s impressive.”

By Wednesday, truckers hope to have taken their protest through to Manitoba and will make it to southern Ontario on Friday.

Plans call for the convoy to arrive in Ottawa on Saturday for a protest.

If it gets there on time — and if the convoy holds together as it has in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan — it could be 10 times larger than the world record.

“The largest parade of trucks consisted of 480 trucks and is achieved by Tahya Misr Fund (Egypt), in Cairo, Egypt, on 20 November 2020,” Guinness says on its website. “With a length of 7.5 km, Tahya Misr Fund was able to organize a parade of 480 trucks, amid the harsh weather and heavy rain, breaking the Guinness World Records title for the largest parade of trucks, which was achieved 16 years ago in the Netherlands with a parade size of 416 trucks.”

There are estimates the Canadian convoy could comprise 50,000 trucks from the West, East, and even from the United States. It’s difficult to speculate what will transpire in the days ahead.

It looks like Ottawa could be swamped with long-haul trucks on Jan. 29. But with winter weather and potential issues, including possible roadblocks or traffic snarls, time will tell.

Whatever happens, it won’t be for lack of support.

Thousands of Canadians have lined the route, cheered from overpasses and offered to feed drivers in their homes and restaurants.

It’s a grassroots demonstration that has become far bigger than anything organizers had envisioned.

With that comes problems. Media reports said a GoFundMe campaign for the convoy, which had surpassed $5 million by Wednesday morning, had been frozen by GoFundMe.

“Fake news,” said Dichter, whose name — along with Tamara Lich — is listed as an organizer. “It’s not true.”

GoFundMe spokesman Rachel Hollis told the Toronto Sun “we are continuing to work directly with the organizer to gather information about how funds are being distributed. This is part of our standard process to ensure the protection of all donors” and “once a withdrawal plan is provided by the organizer, our team is on standby to safely and quickly deliver the funds.”

Organizers have said the raised money, far more than they ever anticipated, is to help truckers with fuel, lodging and food costs.

“But this has never been about that money,” said Dichter, who added with or without it, the convoy will roll forward.

Dichter said he and Lich are the only two speaking on behalf of the Freedom Convoy. So when social media posts talk of insurrection or violence, he added, it will be clear such agitators or saboteurs are not involved in organizing their “peaceful” and “law-abiding” demonstration.

The protest, Dichter said, is about lifting vaccine mandates for truckers at the Canada-U.S. border and other issues relating to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including forcing drivers to wear masks in trucks.

However, the Liberal government is standing firm.

“The government of Canada and the Canadian Trucking Alliance both agree that vaccination, used in combination with preventative public health measures, is the most effective tool to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for Canadians, and to protect public health,” said a joint statement from federal cabinet ministers Omar Alghabra, Seamus O’Regan and Carla Qualtrough, and Canadian Trucking Alliance president Stephen Laskowski.

This is shaping up to be a potential game of chicken, and the world convoy record may fall, too.

Isolating at Home, a Cowardly Canadian Prime Minister Attempts to Avoid Ottawa Protest

As the Canadian ‘Freedom Convoy’ of truckers pushing back against COVID mandates, forced vaccinations and government regulations gets closer to Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announces he will be isolating at home after exposure to the COVID ‘Protest Avoidance‘ variant.

Trudeau admits he has not tested positive, but thinks it is prudent to stay home just in case.

The fundraiser for the Freedom Convoy now exceeds $6.3 million dollars and still climbing.  It is estimated that somewhere north of 50,000 vehicles are participating in the convoy.  The Canadian government is very concerned about the political ramifications.

(Via Global News) – […] Truckers and supportive protesters are heading to Ottawa from east and west parts of the country, as well as from southern Ontario where routes were scheduled to depart from several locations Thursday including Windsor, Sarnia, Niagara and Toronto, according to the organizers’ website.

[…]  Among the topics at-issue for demonstrators is the Canadian government’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers to avoid quarantine.

Mike Fabinski, a truck driver from Barrie, Ont., said the vaccine mandate for cross-border truckers means he won’t be able to work cross-border routes anymore.  “You want to be vaccinated, go ahead, your choice. I don’t want to be vaccinated, that’s my choice,” he said.

[…]  The protest also now seems to be targeting COVID-related mandates generally, beyond the one for cross-border truckers.

“What I’m calling for is basically lockdowns and restrictions to be lifted like the rest of the world is starting to do,” protester Mark Smith told Global News in Drumbo, Ont.

“There’s a freedom movement actually across the world right now and we’re all getting together just trying to get our lives back. And we’re hoping with all this rally and freedom convoy going on, we’ll accomplish this.” (read more)

These are the results of a grassroots demonstration that has evolved into something far bigger than any of the organizers originally envisioned.  I am reminded of Pope John Paul’s visit to Poland in the ’80s, when the solidarity movement first glimpsed the size of their unity.  They took to the streets, looked around at the crowds, and realized for the first time there are more of us than them… and then things changed quickly.  Hopefully for the Canadian people this convoy protest is a similar inflection point in history.

Bravo Canada.

Stand up for your rights and shove the mandate up Trudeau’s ass and all the people’s asses who DEMAND you get the jab.

The mandate needs to end across North America.

It should be if you want the jab, FINE, but if you don’t want the jab, that’s FINE too.

No one should EVER be forced to take the jab. EVER

Being displayed aplenty up here on CBC, CTV, Global, City, etc.

Maybe it is not a “left wing/Marxist/Communist/liberal” conspiracy like your retarded echo chamber at FOX News, Newsmax, OAN, Q discharge, etc. tells you but rather American broadcast doesn’t give a shit about Canadian news.

American Arrogance has been greater than American Exceptionalism for the past 50 years.

And, yeah...I'm talking about the coverage here in America, dipshit.

You may be right with your last comment...as sad as that may be. There is a reason for it, though.

BREAKING NEWS -- American led anti-vax rally in Ottawa Canada fails miserably

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/truck-convoy-protest-some-key-players-1.6332312

Does anyone know what happened to the missing 490,000 truckers and supporters? Posters on Facebook said there would be 500,000 on Parliament Hill today however -- "Police estimate as many as 10,000 people will be on hand by day's end" (from CBC article below) -- only 1/50th of that anti-vax liars total of 500,000 showed up. So I will say this one more time to the anti-vaxer idiots...90% of Canadians have received the vax already. Of the remaining 10%, a good percentage are under 5 years old and cannot be vaxed. Another good percentage are 5 - 17 year olds who have idiotic parents that will NOT allow them to be vaxed. So that probably leaves less than 5% of Canadians who have or will not get vaxed. You are a small percentage of irrelevant cowards with big mouths and nothing more you mouth breathers.

Remember when the Leftards laughed and called Trump "Bunker Boy" after they tried to perform an insurrection at the White House?

Trudeau, Family Moved to Secret Location Over Anti-Vax Convoy

Canadian officials have moved Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family from their home in Ottawa to a secret location over safety concerns after thousands of people protesting vaccine mandates flooded the Canadian capital Saturday.

Trudeau's office would not comment on the family's location, reports the CBC. The prime minister was moved after the Canadian Parliament's Sergeant-at-Arms warned demonstrators could show up at officials' homes.

The Trudeaus live at Rideau Cottage, located on the property at the Governor General's residence, which is about 2.5 miles away from the center of the massive protests.

Trudeau's itinerary simply says that he is in the "national capital region." The prime minister, however, is in isolation after one of his children recently tested positive for COVID-19.

The prime minister's home came under attack in 2020 when a Canadian Armed Forces member with a gun rammed a vehicle into the property's gates.

So far, the protests have not turned violent, according to local law enforcement officials.

Ottawa Police Chief Peter Sloly commented that organizers have said the protests will be a weekend event, but it could stretch through the week. He added that decisions to stop the protests will depend on public safety concerns or if there is a break in communications with the protests' organizers.

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino said Friday that there were some signs of "flagrant extremism" in some of the protesters, with some comparing vaccine mandates to actions that happened in Nazi Germany and calling for violence to be used to overthrow the government.

"That is not about freedom and it's certainly not about truckers," Mendocino told the CBC.

The trucker convoy arrived on Parliament Hill to demand the government end COVID-19 mandates and other health restrictions. It was accompanied by hundreds of protesters on foot, despite a warning for extreme cold weather.

Police estimated that up to 10,000 people could be in Ottawa by the end of the day Saturday.

"I've never done anything like this in my life. I'm 53 years old and this is the hill I'm going to die on. Do not tell me I have to put something in my body," one of the protesters, who said she had been fired from her job as a dental hygienist because she refused to be vaccinated, told CBC News.

Next time that happens unlike 1/6, I hope "your people" are met with bullets from government snippers the second you break through a barrier or any other act of violence or destruction of government property.
