Let’s NOT Be the Next Green Bay

Recommended Posts

With the current situation with ARod....it has got me thinking....

Allen is the franchise qb. Why not give the fucking dude ample weapons? Yes Diggs was a HUGE step in the right direction. I thought this was a sign of things to come. This last draft was HEAVY on the defense...as it usual is. Hopefully it’s the fucking last time.

We have invested HEAVILY on defense through the draft. Cool.

So did the Packers for most Rodgers career....

With the exception of Jordon Love and two tackles...these motherfuckers LOVED drafting themselves defense in the first round...especially DBs. Here’s a breakdown:

DT: 3

DE: 2

LB: 3

DB: 5

thats 13 fucking years of defensive first rounders.

meanwhile some of Rodgers best known weapons have been second rounders...Adams, Jennings and Nelson. Pity they never got him first round talent studs. And Josh Allen will be in the same boat if this regime continues to think dEFeNse wINs cHaMpIonShiPs. Right now Allen is one Diggs injury away from having an old man receiving corps and Motor and Dawson Knox as the offense. You fucking kidding me?

I'm not disagreeing with your post, butt fuck A-A-Ron Rodgers.

He is the biggest girly-man the NFL has ever seen.  He fired his HC, now he wants to fire his GM (vendetta for drafting Love), and I hope the Raiders pay a king's ransom for that bitch.  There is no doubt in my mind that the NFL is going to steer him to the Raiders just the same as they did with Brady to the Bucs.

Anyways - it's not only about the draft.  Free agency counts as well, and to your point they have not surrounded him with elite talent.

That being said - it will be interesting to see how greedy Allen's agent gets in contract negotiations.  I think the Allen camp is too smart to try to break the bank.  I love how much of a competitor but humble the kid is.

the bills have plenty of weapons on offense right now. the weakness is in run blocking and they reloaded on a bunch of veteran backups to compete, and im sure they will focus heavily on that in training camp. im sure theyll also add a couple more bodies there as salcap cuts happen. bean could also work a trade if it looks like nobody is stepping up to improve the run blocking

the weakness was bigger on the defensive side. star sitting out had a big impact on holding down the run game and creating space for other pass rushers. they reloaded there bc they had to get the young guys in to learn the pro game and cycle the rotation like opie likes to do. i personally think the defense is set now and will be a top ten unit again

but oline is the big question on the whole team. if they cant run block then play fakes and read options wont work and allen will have to be dan marino just sitting in shotgun every play and trying to outrun defenders who know he cant rely on a reasonably productive run game so it will be full go pass rush every down

i hope allen is smart and humble enough to work out a sweetheart deal ala brady so that the bills can continue to add talent in other positions. give a hometown discount and push as much money to the future as you can. keep renegotiating when that money comes due as long as hes on the team. youll have to pay for it eventually but you can spread it out a little at a time so that a rebuild when hes done wont take that long. that would be a huge boost to keeping the team highly competitive for a long time while hes here. he doesnt seem to have a big selfish ego so i hope works out that way

Yeah not a fan of the man myself. I think he’s an arrogant fuck. But at the same time the Packers did next to nothing to help him on offense.

Yeah I’m hoping this last draft will solidify the defense for awhile. And that’s fine. But the Bills should be looking for Diggs successor relatively soon...either through draft or free agency or trade. In a blink of an eye Diggs is gone and Allen is 32 throwing to scrubs.

I hope we are the next green bay. 2x superbowls and around 25 -30 years of playoff calibre teams because of HOF qb play.

Yeah I’ll take one Super Bowl. I can die a happy motherfucker. But an elite talent like Rodgers has only sniffed the Super Bowl once...in 16-17 years. That’s fucking terrible. Granted he won it but damn...

They have been terrible with team management. But Rodgers wins in spite of it. We can only hope Allen will be that good long term.

what are you talking about?

diggs will be 27 when the season starts. he doesnt have a lot of wear and tear because he was a 2nd or 3rd option in minny, which is why he wanted out. he will be able to play at a high level for another five or six years, barring serious injury

and besides, the bills have gabe davis on the other side and hes only 22. hes the most impressive rookie weve had here in a long time. they also have isaiah hodgins on the other side and he looks like he could develop into a legit wr2

sure, the bills should draft rookie wrs if somebody drops and the unexpected value is there, but they are fine at wr for the foreseeable future. Allen is 24 so youre talking ten-plus years before he starts his noticeable decline. and youre worried about wrs now??

you been drinking? it doesnt make sense. they have plenty of time every season until then to draft guys and pick up free agents to keep him flush with weapons. i dont get why you made this such an urgent issue

Exactly. Let’s now draft WRs so that Allen has weapons in 10 years ... that makes sense ... lol

Yes. You think Big Ben would still be a viable qb in the league if the Steelers hadn’t drafted WRs high every fucking year? Claypool, Washington, Schuster, Sanders, Wallace, Holmes, Miller.

You willing to wait 2-3 years, or longer, for a WR to develop? Cool.

Beasley will be 34 and is a FA after 2022 season. Mckenzie is likely gone after this year. Sanders is gone after this year. This WR group will look very different next year and the year after. Getting a long term #2 or 1B is a need going forward. If they can find a legit receiving threat at TE that could change things.

Cole Beasley just turned 32.

Allen and the staff have been patient with Knox and he is going into his 3rd year. Very few TE's start off their careers on fire. I would say year 3 is the time that Knox rewards this organization with their patience in him. If he doesn't work out, expect both a vet TE and a high draft choice TE in 2022.

The offense was ranked #3 last year. The defense was ranked #15.

I have no problem at all addressing holes in the defense. They most certainly aren't neglecting the offense. Every starter from our high powered offense is back except for Brown, who was replaced by a proven wr in Sanders.

The defense is getting old and 3 starting D-linemen are in the final year of their contracts. They had to have some replacements ready to step in.

Some of you must have had some amnesia the last 20 years. Yeah let’s keep kicking the can down the road. I can’t live in a world where the best option to win games is to be defensive. Our offense is essentially the same. Remember how it all of a sudden went into a hole when the playoffs started? Fuck stagnation.

As far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on Rousseau - I wasn't a fan of the pick, but I'm trying to stay optimistic about it.  I like the Basham pick so much more...

Picks 28-33 were all defense.

They passed on Tevin Jenkins @30 and took two DL.  Then they took two OTs in the 3rd and 5th.  I'm still curious as to why Jenkins fell out of the 1st because all of the mock draft gurus had him pegged to go middle-to-late 1st.  Yeah, the Bills drafted a swing OT, but it wasn't Jenkins.  Interesting.

I understand what you are saying about playing defensive football as it's synonymous with "back-peddling".  But... the best way to win ballgames is to keep your defense off of the field.  Power running game/ ball control/ clock management/ whatever...  But how do you keep your offense on the field when Allen is throwing rockets to Diggs when after his first cut he's already on the Moon...?

Does “reading comprehension” confuse you?  I guess so, since literally every media member today was saying how this offense is almost entirely Allen/Diggs centric. Talk about something that hurts for you to read, eh?
