Meathead
this is a small thing but it sorta bugs me ive always felt there should be a delay between when you submit a post and when it will be flagged if you edited it. idk what it was in the last version, but it seemed to be at least 60 seconds. whatever it was, it seemed like the right amount posters should have an opportunity to correct typos or rewrite small sections to clarify their thoughts. sometimes you dont state things as well the first time through and its nice to be able to edit/correct them without an indicator that says youve edited it jmo Quote One set of rules for all in The Beloved Community "The word racism is like ketchup. HipKat
Speaking of editing posts, I had one to edit today and while in edit mode, I was researching so I could add to it and this took less than 10 minutes, but I was warned that it was too late to edit. Can we extend the time to edit out to an hour? Quote “There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind, never even considered for mass production. Meathead
imo, you should be able to edit posts indefinitely there should be a ten minute delay until a message appears saying the post has been edited explain to me what harm comes from indefinite editing versus the benefits 1 Quote One set of rules for all in The Beloved Community "The word racism is like ketchup. Meathead
lit does what he feels like doing. thats ok but apparently this isnt on his preferred list of efforts Quote One set of rules for all in The Beloved Community "The word racism is like ketchup. There isn’t a setting to turn the “edited by” off. I would have to custom code something, which is fine, but just haven’t had the dime to do it. Meathead
meh if youre going to spend time coding something, forget about the edit delay. we can live with that its probably complicated, but my first choice would be to fix the topics buttons at the top of the forum. that was awesome when they worked fortunately we arent getting any complaints bc ppl know its just broken. but i think its tamping down on some people participating Quote One set of rules for all in The Beloved Community "The word racism is like ketchup. But he replied about the 2nd sentence(the only one I didnt care about), so I have crossed it out this time, because it doesn't concern what I am asking for: the ability to edit for over an hour...so I dont have to ask you to do it for me. I'd like to edit the super long thread title of mine(covid-usa), for example. I dont know that the delay is, and I do not mind if it says edited by. Actually, leaving the "edited by" on makes sense and I wouldn't want it off. Meat, can you simply ask him to remove the ban on editing a post after 1 hour? You get answers/results. You were SO close!! Thanks Quote Andy did you hear about this one?-REM . "I don't think I'm easy to talk about. I've got a very irregular head.
