I can share a little of what I know. The 1964 Kennedy halfs are generally the most collectible since it was the first year they were made, and they were the only Kennedys made out of 90% silver. After 1964 all the "silver" coins were made with 40% silver for a couple more years and then they became the mostly copper, silver colored things we have to this day. It also would have been the only Kennedy half to have the mint mark on the reverse side. If there is one, it would be a D underneath the left side eagle's talon. That would mean it was minted in Denver. Otherwise it was minted in Philadelphia. But none of this means much, except to say that's why it's worth at least $14 or so. I never heard of the government minting any Kennedy's with any gold plating. But there were numerous places like the Danbury Mint and many similar places that would plate certain coins and then sell them as special collector's items. That's likely what happened here. I doubt it makes it worth much more, but I'm not a total expert by any means so for sure check it out. Usually if you see a similar coin going for thousands of dollars it's because for some reason there were very few of that year and mint produced (that didn't happen to Kennedy's in 1964), or there's some rare mis-strike or something odd happened during the minting. These would be a small percentage within the total minting of the coin for the year, and in most cases only experts would even know what to look for. So I won't say it's worth a lot, but I'd be surprised if it is. More likely it was someone's good luck charm and he lost it while pulling his vape pen out. But good luck to you.
