Bills sign new contract with Tyrod Taylor; He's staying in Buffalo!

Recommended Posts

Did they really have a choice?

They did the best IMHO, restructured and have a top 20 QB for next year.

Who knows maybe a magic spider will come down and bite TT on the ass giving him the ability to throw receivers open.

Or the O-line will actually play better....

I live in New Jersey. Used to drive up to the games when I realized all Ralph Wilson cared about is the FAN'S MONEY. This time different owner SAME APPLIES.................... knowing that Pegula has no clue about winning. Is a BUSINESS ONLY MAN.....just want's the fan's hard earned money. and.............. Whaley knows the major problem is THE QB...he failed to address this......Kirk Cousins told the Redskins owner Daniel Snyder he want's a trade... This pocket passer will put the bills in the playoffs....

and Snyder responded...."don't get your hopes up on that trade" He's staying in Washington this year. He will bolt next year.

Cousins put about as many points on the board as Tyrod with twice the turnovers. He may be a better passer, but he would have had no better of a record in Buffalo than Tyrod did. He'd also demand far more money. Face it, Tyrod is the best, real option we had.

This in my mind is the move of the offseason. We won free agency by signing Taylor to a pedestrian 10 million a year. Mike Glennon is getting 15 million a year and we signed a quality game manager with leadership abilities to 10 million a year? That is a hell of a bargain. Taylor would have gotten so much more on the open market.

If Taylor could have gotten more on the open market, he would have done so. He would have walked from the contract offer and gone elsewhere. He would not have renegotiated.

.....And you can put it on the board!

I do agree with Ham that I rather have Taylor than Glennon. And if there is an additional "5 million less" topping on Taylor, then I think this is a good deal for us.

If I said I wanted Tyrod to start for the next 5 years, I'd cross over into the retard realm but now we have a nice stop gap while we develop a 1st - 2nd round QB.

I disagree. I think Taylor knows that 15 million a year would likely price him out to be a 1-2 year deal and at 10 million, he could likely stay as a starter for a longer period of time. Just a hunch. It's analytics on Taylor's part but I think he is trying to take the steady route.
