Carpenter had a lot of movies that were under appreciated. The Thing, Halloween, They Live, Escape from NY and Big trouble Little China all classics

Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite movies that spurned a line I Still use today; "I'm feeling pretty good. Kind've...invincible!"

A high-powered mutant of some kind, never even considered for mass production.

Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

He's a great actor! I don't think I've ever seen him play a bad role. Captain Ron??

Tombstone is another of my all time favorites.  If I stumble across it while flipping channels, I end up watching it to the end.  GREAT MOVIE.

Agree on Russell.  Very underrated actor.  Have you seen Bone Tomahawk?  Not for the squeamish, but great.

What about his role as Stuntman Mike?

"Wind River" starring Jeremy Renner.  Great movie.  Two extremely disturbing scenes.

Ok, two that I just thought of that I really, really enjoyed are Grand Canyon and LA Story, both with Steve Martin
