[POLITICS] Political Problem Solving 101

Recommended Posts

I throw my hands in the air. I've had enough. The stalemates in Washington have become insurmountable and it's time for real problem solving.

It's time to give people what they want instead of telling them what they're going to get.

Covid-19, I could solve that problem immediately and that's by giving everybody exactly what they want. If you want to get vaccinated, go get vaccinated. They're free and they're readily available just like other vaccines are. Just like a flu shot is.

If you don't want the vaccine you think don't get the vaccine. But if you end up in the hospital and you're not vaccinated then it's on your dime. You and whatever your insurance will cover for any other illnesses.

No more mandates, no more safety precautions. No more limiting anybody from doing anything. If you want to wear a mask and not go to large gatherings then that is your decision. Nobody is forcing you to any longer.

It's time for Congress to stop trying to get one up on each other and do the things that people want. Pass the infrastructure bill. I think it's pretty obvious that the claims of $15 an hour jobs at fast food restaurants had no basis in reality. Those wages exist and those jobs are not being filled because people don't want $15 an hour to flip burgers, they just don't want to flip fucking burgers. Or punch of cash register.

Pass the infrastructure Bill creating jobs that people can make good money at and feel good about doing. Repairing and replacing bridges, building and repaving roads, buildings, infrastructure for higher speed internet into areas that are lacking our long-lasting jobs that pay well.

Nobody wants to reconciliation bill. Nobody. We can't afford it and it's not structured in a way that makes it possible to pass or pay for. Break it into pieces, restructure it into separate bills.

Those are three simple solutions that would go a long way in eliminating a lot of the bullshit that we are all being victimized by and would open the door to accomplishing other problems that right now have no chance of seeing the light of day.

I want that 6T infrastructure bill. We can CLEARLY Afford it. We literally paid weapons makers and defense contractors the same to kill people and have NOTHING to show for it. Cut the pork from the "defense" budget. The rest will be paid for by raising taxes on the wealthy and wallstreet who also benefitted from all of it.

I stopped reading at the part where you falsely claimed that the people want to pass through the infrastructure bill.

Anyone with a functioning brain should know that that bill will cause more inflation and will weaken the dollar or even help crash the economy, and that is just the start of a very long list of what's wrong with the bill.

What a fucking joke

The Infrastructure bill isn't 6 Trillion.

That's great. Let's follow that to its conclusion.

"Oh you're 50lbs overweight, smoke, eat junk food, and don't exercise? Sorry about that heart attack bud, we'd help you but it's on your dime."

"What? You got divorced, are depressed, and now want some happy medication? Sorry dude, you shoulda made that marriage work."

"Grandpa needs a new knee and has a history of playing sports? Sorry gramps, maybe you should have joined the chess club."

As for the infrastructure bill, don't make me laugh, it's less about rebuilding the country and more about funding a bunch of bullshit while all of the politicians swell their bellies with tons of pork as well as pushing more Socialist shit. if we were serious about infrastructure we'd be building factories again and getting America back as a producer of goods rather than a white collar economy where people want to make $100k playing with Excel spreadsheets and $60k making fried chicken.

I have no problem with adding stipulations to bad health habits like drug abuse, eating, smoking, etc., but I did say including what ever insurance will cover. Right now, most Insurance companies are covering all costs for treatment. Is that fair?

And I think you're confusing the infrastructure bill with the bloated reconciliation bill

What a fucking joke

WH's Psaki: 80% Support Biden’s Spending Agenda – Poll: Just 36% of Voters Support Dems’ $3.5 Trillion Spending Bill

Promoting Democrats’ $3.5 trillion spending bill Monday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that “80 percent” of Americans support President Joe Biden’s spending agenda – but, a new national survey shows only 36% support among voters.

Psaki three times claimed “80 percent” support as she touted the multi-trillion dollar spending bill during a White House press briefing:

“So, included in these packages that the president is fighting to move forward on with leadership, we are working to lower the excruciatingly high cost of prescription drugs, which, by the way, over 80 percent of the American public supports.”

….

“We’re also working to make historic investments in crumbling roads and bridges, which over 80 percent of Americans support.”

….

“Well, I would say first, if public support is right around 80 percent for most of the initiatives, then public support has been rallied.”

But, results of a survey of voters released Monday by Rasmussen Reports reveals that little more than a third of the nation’s voters actually support the massive spending bill.

Just 36% of voters support passage of the contentious $3.5 trillion spending bill being debated in Congress, while 53% oppose the bill, including 41% who “strongly oppose” it. Ten percent say they aren’t sure how they feel.

“Congress is currently deadlocked over a $3.5 trillion spending bill. Do you support or oppose passage of this bill?” the survey of 1,000 likely voters, conducted September 23 and 26, 2021, asked. The survey has a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
