Joe Rogan weighs suing CNN, Jim Acosta over Ivermectin 'horse dewormer' claims: 'They're making s**t up!'

Joe Rogan slammed CNN on Tuesday over the network's repeated claims that Ivermectin — a controversial anti-parasite drug that the popular podcaster used after being diagnosed with COVID-19 — is a "horse dewormer," even floating the idea that he may sue the network for defamation.

"Well, well well, if it isn't old 'horse worm Rogan,'" guest host Tom Segura quipped Tuesday during an episode of Rogan's show, referencing the negative coverage Rogan received over his decision to use the drug.

"Bro, do I have to sue CNN?" Rogan responded while laughing. "They're making s**t up!"

"They keep saying I'm taking horse dewormer," he continued. "I literally got it from a doctor. It's an American company. They won the Nobel Prize in 2015 for use in human beings and CNN is saying I'm taking horse dewormer. They must know that's a lie."

Rogan was widely chastised last week after announcing he had elected to throw "the kitchen sink" at the virus, using "all kinds of meds, monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin, Z-Pak, prednisone, everything" after testing positive. Scores of social media commenters even wished death on the podcast host.

But despite the death wishes, Rogan announced only days later that he had recovered from the virus, even completing a negative test, proving the pathogen was no longer present in his body.

CNN, along with the large majority of other mainstream media outlets, have characterized the drug primarily as a "horse dewormer" that "has become popular among fringe and anti-vaccine communities."

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration notes that "Ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea." But the agency has adamantly advised that humans not take Ivermectin to treat COVID-19.

During the podcast episode Tuesday, Rogan touted the drug for helping in his recovery and noted that several doctors advised him to take the medication.

The podcaster also pushed back at CNN and one of the network's anchors, Jim Acosta, for defaming him.

"CNN was saying I am a distributor of misinformation," Rogan said. "I don't know what's going on, man."

"You know, there is a lot of speculation," he continued. "One of the speculations involves the emergency use authorization for the vaccines. That, in order for there to be an emergency use authorization, there has to be no treatment for a disease."

Big Pharma: Please don't take that cheap, widely available, Nobel Peace prize winning medication to cure yourself because we need to make billions from these poorly researched shots!

You know, in the end, Big Pharma should just scrap the vaccines because no doubt class action lawsuits are coming for those injured. Just admit that you can't make an effective vaccine for a coronavirus due to rapid mutations and move on.

Gee, I thought it was Doctors and the inventor if Ivermectin that said not to take it. Why isn't he suing them?

I really like Joe Rogan. I think he's one of the most honest podcasters out there. He has intelligent thoughtful takes and doesn't just take people at their word. He does listen and he does admit mistakes when he's wrong and that's one of the most refreshing things about him. He has intelligent guests on the show and he can hang with them intellectually. He doesn't overreact and he does see things that are obvious. I don't get why many liberals try to cast his shadow in a negative light because in many ways he is very liberal.

Correction, he is in many ways, 'classically liberal' - like me.  Maybe he's not as free thinking, thoughtful, eloquent, literate and open minded; no one is.

The modern 'liberal' is actually a totalitarian socialist.  Think 'Hitler with a Pussy Hat".

I’d like to hear your thoughts on what Trump is then. Just a little bit of fascism there no? Hell. I’d be all in on Joe Rogan for president.

Trump is a Whig- a classical progressive.  They believed the government should invest in infrastructure.

Fascism is socialism with the recognition of private property rights to foster industrialization.  A leftist philosophy.  So, no Trump is not fascist.  Obama (though I suspect the private property right distresses him), Biden, Pelosi are all exemplars of power-mad fascism.

a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

In other words... the epitome of what Trump was as president.

The definition fits the orange POS to a T but the idiot cultists are too stupid to realize that.

I agree with you on everything you said. I am a big fan of his podcasts and admittedly I fallen behind since he moved to Spotify but I'm going to try to get caught up while I'm on vacation the next 2 weeks.

The reason why some liberals paint him into that corner is because he has called out Trump in the past but he has also defended him, and now the biggest reason is because he is an anti-vaxxer and just like the anti-vaxxers use politics in most cases as an excuse to not get the vaccines, the other side of the coin uses politics to chastise them for it

How so?  You must assuredly can't support your opinion with facts.

2016 - 2020 was a golden age of enlightened civic discourse, like ancient Greece.  Sure it left confused concrete-bound mentalities flummoxed, but the benefits were worth it.

BTW, that definition of fascism obviously came from a post-WW2 text book; the writer was one of the left that wanted to mischaracterize Hitler as right wing.  He was a socialist.

Mine is the correct definition for fascism.

Left wing philosophies are extremely precarious; they always devolve into corruption and totalitarianism.

See Pelosi's wish to have 50 caliber machine guns at the Capitol.  A Capitol Police officer misfires and 4 bystanders would be cut to ribbons.  This evil harpy is unhinged.  See, I mentioned facts.

Uhhhh... none of that happened under Trump. Exalting the Nation/State over the individual is a Communist thing and the racial thing doesn't jibe either since Trump did a lot for the black community and had his Platinum Plan ready to go with $500B incentives for them as well as designating ANTIFA and KKK as terrorist organizations and making Juneteenth an official holiday. As far as a centralized autocratic government, once again, a Democrat communist thing - look at them now trying to subvert states like Florida that won't go along with their COVID mandates. Severe economic and social regimentation? More Communism. If anything Trump boosted the economy by dropping cumbersome regulations and slashing taxes. Forcible suppression of the opposition? Trump didn't lock up protestors from ANTIFA and BLM with no due process like Biden did with the January 6th people and beared an unbelievable amount of propaganda from the MSM. A true dictator would have shut the opposition media down kind of like what's happening to Democrat donors Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter.

Do you even understand anything about the ABCs of politics?
