Boycotts are not Cancel Culture.   They are a means with which people may gather and influence business behavior.   Like a Union Strike by the consumer.   

The above is never a bad thing, as long as all parties are well informed.   

Cancel culture refers to the direct firing/alienation of an individual because they said/ did something with which someone else is offended. 

Also, understand the difference between the gathered market forces of a boycott versus the applied pressure of  governmental regulation tyranny.
