What are the biggest needs for the Bills this offseason?

This week, we cover a broad range of topics including signing J.J. Watt, shedding salary cap commitments, re-signing Matt Milano, and addressing the running game.

Here’s a quick look at how they can create space for him in the rotation and the cap:

1. Cut Vernon Butler

The move would save $6.8 million on the salary cap this season and open up the spot Watt would play. Butler was supposed to be the defensive end who could also kick inside to defensive tackle on pass downs.

2. Cut Quinton Jefferson

Jefferson’s release would save $6.5 million on the cap. He has six QB hits a year ago while Watt had 17.

3 Possibly cut Mario Addison

Cutting the two players above frees up more than $13 million, which is easily enough to cover the cost of Watt. If they are still looking for money for other guys, Addison’s $6.1 million is sitting there. Do you want to pay a rotational player $10 million?
