Cody Ford, Trey Adams could provide the Buffalo Bills with options at right tackle this offseason

What positions do these guys play?

The Buffalo Bills have a hole at right tackle. With veterans Ty Nsekhe and Daryl Williams set to hit free agency this offseason, there is only one person on Buffalo’s roster with starting experience at right tackle and the Bills moved him to guard a year ago.

That doesn’t mean the 2021 starting right tackle isn’t on the roster.

The man we alluded to earlier is Cody Ford, and the Bills could absolutely be penciling him in as the starting right tackle as of right now. When he was drafted in 2019, general manager Brandon Beane made it a point that Ford as a tackle. In 2020, he shifted inside to guard when Buffalo signed Daryl Williams who had an outstanding season. With Williams set to become a free agent, Ford could return to the right tackle spot where he spent 16 games in the year before last and played 69% of the offensive snaps.

Another intriguing name on the Bills’ roster is Trey Adams. An undrafted free agent in 2020, Adams didn’t have the opportunity to impress and grow during rookie minicamp, minicamps, OTAs, training camp, and the preseason due to COVID-19 restrictions. In his second season, could the former top NFL Draft prospect make waves? His primary position in college was left tackle, but with Dion Dawkins written in pen on that side, perhaps Adams could be urged to change sides or at least cross-train both positions.

The Bills are 100% going to add at least one tackle this offseason. Beane doesn’t rest on his laurels and he’s constantly restocking the o-line. It will tell a lot about how the Bills see the position — and Ford and Adams specifically — how aggressive they are in trying to upgrade.

Please don't try Cody Ford at Right Tackle, again.

He has had two years to show his skill set at RT, and we need better than what he has shown.

Sure, he can be a very good swing guy....depth at RT and depth at OG, but don't make that the only plan.

Draft an OT at pick #30.

Trealy Adams is already a legend regardless if he ever takes a meaningful snap.

Would not be surprised if he is the starter 2 years from now.  Taking the Boettger route

Good pedigree, injured in college.  Resigning Williams for 2 years where we can get out of it after the 3rd would make a lot of sense.  Let him marinate and get some seasoning the next year or 2 and hell be ready.

Hilarious interview at the NFL Combine when he was a college prospect....

Is there a more important contending team that needs Daryl Williams more than us? Is dion related to why Allen is forced to the right side so much unlike Brady and Mahomes?

Daryl Williams needs to cash in.   He hasn't been paid a lot as a NFL player.  This one year with the Bills he "only" got $2.2 million.
in 2019 he got paid $6 million.
He has to make up for lost time, so I won't blame him if he jumps ship to get $10 million a year from a team badly  needing a RT.  And it might not be a top contender. He has to make his money now.

We've been badly needing a RT for twenty years and if we want to keep contending...

We need to use our 1st pick on an OT.  There are some good ones this year, all the way down to the #30 pick.

Draft one to play RT.  We will have him for the next 5 years, at least.

Following college football I saw Adams play and dude was a beast prior to his injury/surgery.  So much so that people thought he would be a top five pick.  He was out of shape and slow his final year at Washington making him undraftable.  If ours strength and conditioning program can get him back that top five level we really got ourselves a steel.

Jeez we had teller for 5 yrs. Developing players out of the draft is key. Big failure there.

We could have had Teller for 4 years (since he was a 5th round pick in 2018).

We got too cute.  Beane signed guys like Quinton Spain, Russell Bodine, etc etc, so he thought Wyatt was expandable.  So we missed on that one.

On the plus side, Beane nailed it by drafting Tyler Bass in the 5th.   Gab Davis in the 4th.    Even Dane Jackson in the 7th.
Now let's see if they is a chance to develop 6th round WR Isaiah Hodgins.
